2008-09-06 9.00 PM Icy Terran Pirate

A scouting party around the Makavelic System reports alien energy readings and are requested to investigate.

Their discovery is a group of pirates in alien ships with low to unpresent energy readings and a frosted appearance resembling ice passing through a massive space rift. Their report led to the fleet being deemed `Icy Terran Pirates.`

Reports stated that the pirates had managed to activate the stolen artifact which had created a space rift. The situation continued to worsen as ships continued to pour from the rift.

The scout team that made the report was then attacked and there were no survivors.

Later there were several empire`s greeted with a message from the pirates stating, `We will activate the Overmind Project if the galaxies empires do not bow before us. Our new ships leave us undefeatable so do not refuse us.`

Many empire`s immediate refusal to surrender leaves untold billions in fear of the pirate`s response.

2008-08-28 6.00 PM Stolen Artifact

The celebration for scientists great breakthrough regarding the unknown artifact located in the Anfit planetary system was cut short as Terran space pirates openned fire on a near by defense fleet.

With the risk of invasion, a group of the ships watching over the artifact was sent to defend the border. A second attack, containing a much larger pirate fleet, overwhelmed the divided fleet and the surviving half returned to rubble and the artifact stolen.

Speculation quickly arouse that insiders staged the border attack as an excuse to weaken the protection on the artifact, making it`s theft possible. These accusation were intensified by the discovery made about it not yet a day ago.

Considering the potential threat of this artifact being in the wrong hands, several empires ordered small scouting parties to locate the thieves.

2008-08-28 2.15 AM

On a routine patrol, the Anfit Empire accidentally discovered a weak energy pulse originating from a moon of one of his Oceanic planets. Upon further investigation, it was found to be caused by an alien artifact of unknown origin. The device appears to have activated when the ship that was dispatched to investigate it approached within 100 miles of the artifact. Further energy releases have caused disruptions in space, warping it and causing abnormalities.

Various scientists have been recruited and brought to the location to study the strange artifact more closely. More details will be unveiled as they are discovered. Stay tuned.

2008-08-26 1.00 AM

The newly assigned research team, consisting of only 10% of the original scientists, discovered the source of the problem of the weakened hulls and easily reversed it.

As one newly added scientist stated, "The solution was so simple, I am honestly insulted to have been previously thought of as being `inferior` to them. While the former team`s members were stuck debating a plan that `could` work, we spent the same ammount of time coming up with several solutions that would. It is ludacris."

With the hull weakness completely reversed, the new research team asked the galaxies empires to consider very seriously if they even wanted to fix the `problem,` claiming the new production rate to be `an unexplainable, but not necessarily dangerous event.`

2008-08-24 10.00 PM

Fearing the possible long-term effects of this rather unusualy situation, empires throughout the galaxy assigned their best scientists to a joint operation in an attempt to reverse the process.
After what seemed to many like an eternity, a reversing plan was agreed upon and tested successfully. After it was deemed a success, empires throughout the galaxy implemented the system and manufacturing resumed as usual.

Unfortunately the scientists had not tested the new ships strength, and it was later discovered by an unlucky empire who made an attack primarily with the new ships. On top of that, their `solution` was only a temporary one. The assembly lines began their increased production again, only now the ships produced shared the blunders weakened hulls.

More than three-dozen scientists who worked on the project were immediately fired for incompetence and many more are expected to lose their jobs if the case is not resolved soon.

2008-08-23

Simultaneous reports flooded the Galactic Press from hundreds of empires throughout the galaxy. Every empire reported virtually the exact same occurance. All was going as usual when all of the sudden space ship assembly lines started rolling off ships at unbelievable rates!

Further reports have all stated that there doesn`t seem to be anything wrong with the new ships and the assembly lines are holding up even though they are running at 400% their normal capacity.
