We, Your Staff have decided to test raising the build rates of nearly all ships, except scouts. If all goes well these changes will become permanent. The Testing of the build rates will start Now, and go on until Oct. 9th
Any post made in this thread or any other will over all be ignored by staff, if you wish to have your opinions known and heard then please PM any and all comments, questions, and concerns to StaffBot9001 on RT(yes we are over 9000)
What were are looking for is to maintain balance while giving everyone a bit more Umpf for their turns.
For you Turnbased players we really want to hear from you. We also know that increasing Brs could affect overall cost/upkeep (which is more important on TB servers) so report any concerns there, but we`re hoping since all races will be affected this point will be moot.
Yes your voices will be heard and all will be considered.
Here are the changes, the following Jpgs should be self explanatory:

For the duration of the test, Paid Ships will be released to all Accounts. (Further info may be posted. Keep checking)

You`re wanting to charge us poor Guardians more for our ships, therefor nullifying the only thing that compensates us for the absence of income? Oh, and thank you so much for +30% br for our ships - no wait, that means x all to our impressive range of 1 br a turn ships. Well, x all except for the increase in cost to have them. |

That should make the game very interesting, I BET, IT WILL prevent spammers, due to the fact that they can`t base up and then start spamming up with a capital ship to only counter. This way, people can be forced to stack up and if attacked loose only one planet.. But that will make the game very very veryyyyy boring. |

Why make it worse? Would like a list of all the changes in shields/weapons. Is guard the only race that got tinkered with like this? |
Crack 99+ day(s) ago | Most ships just need minor tweaks here and there.. With the increase in br.. Paid ships should get what they deserved.. Maybe fenrir should be 2x.. Not 4/5 increased.. F broadsword, kings and leo is 2x.. Why not give them a plus1, eg 21, 41 and 11 instead of directly 2x.. It makes the paid ship looks just a tad nicer.. Sapphire could do with a 10% increase.. Cronus could be be 17 but lessen borres to 55.. |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | also, in my experience...it`s actually a lot scarier firing on a balanced stack when you control the ranks, versus firing on a spam.
I dont think that spams should need to be relied on when challenging the ranks...a mixture of tactics (spam and stacking) should be the best way in an ideal world. |

Ragnarok 99+ day(s) ago | Spammers are still going to spam, esp when challenging the higher ranks or if you want to chip away at a balanced fleet or even as a scout. Upper PR warfare that involve multiple days of turns fleets will always be about the spams.
However, if all you plan to do is flight under 12m pr, you can now stack and not have it be like a 1 time deal if it doesn`t go that well for you.
I think we`re both agreed that once you nerf herc, lictor and angel and allow a bit of time for things to balance out, you will see a lot more stacking behavior at least in the sub 10-12m pr levels.
I say that Snow needs a lower BR just because even if it`s a sucky ship, if you have the PR advantage it can still be significant advantage (like Lictor). Plus 68k per turn seems a bit much for collective, just as 100k per turn BR with lictor is a bit much for miner. |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | Rag, the issue about keeping spams is true. However, once again I dont consider spamming fez to be a viable way to kill a spam. You are right that caps are easy to kill with fez...but what does that make fez? its even easier to kill fez, especially runners. So, in that sense...spamming is tremendously powerful because it almost FORCES your opponent to build a predictable fleet that can be subsequently taken down with absolute ease...
This type of combat I dont like...it`s WAY too much rock paper scissors. Mindless, and kinda pointless when you think about it.
Angel could use a nerf yeah, although I`m not sure snow really needs a nerf. It still kinda sucks, lol...I simmed it against a few cap ships and even with the boosted BR it doesn`t do that well.
anyways, to make my point perhaps more clear: this update doesn`t solve the issue of spamming. Especially since the new killer spam ships are super cheap and affordable. it`s boring playing a game where aptitude is defined as I build more ships than you, so I win. |

And GW, the same can be said about keeping spams. I mean once the spam is known, it`s easy to take it down. I just took down a certain herc/nirv player more than twice my PR with only a day`s worth of runners. That would have never been possible before this increase. And even if he was all hercs and runners died out, i would have still won because runners isn`t all I spammed.
But I do agree that making herc, lictor and D Angel BR of more than 90k pr is a bit much
and partially undermines the whole intent of promoting the stacking piece. In fact, it underscores why it is so important to even out the BRs at least cap ship to cap ship.
I suggest D Angel to 2, then Herc and Lictor back to 1, but inflate all 3 ships by 30% so it would still be competitive BR wise. This would be in line with evening out the BR of other smaller cap ships. |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | I disagree with the idea that now spamming will be obsolete simply because queens build faster. This is me speaking after a week of fighting with these new PR changes at high PRs....PRs on TB where it takes you days/weeks to get a fleet that high (around 20-40 mil on normal and 100+ mil on fast)
It is pretty impractical/impossible to have enough queens in your fleet to protect against a spam. Even harder defensively, against a lictor/herc spam on careful now.
At first I thought that these changes would promote stacking. Now, I am totally unconvinced that this will be the case.
When it comes down to turn efficient fighting...it`ll still be a challenge to see who has the `bigger` spam. Nothing`s changed this update...just the ships being spammed perhaps (lictor, instead of lyth now. hercs were popular before this update and they still are powerful)
One suggestion to change this would be to increase the BR of destroyers further, or we can drop the BRs of ships in question like herc/lictor to about a 1/3 of what they are right now. |
