kelti, it seem that some hardware is messed up when you clean your desktop.. i`m assumed the major comp issue u encounter after cleaning of the fan is Blue screen of death... you might want to try reinserting the data cable linking to your cd-rom drive.. or even replace the cable.. the signal from the cd-rom to desktop might be lost so it keep shutting down the comp.. might have affect those cable somehow when u blow the fan..

New software you installed probably, not uncommon.

Talk to the microsoft or the manufacture and they will say buy and replace that CD drive. Suggest would be find your default CD files along with the manufacture CD files and replace them all, probably fix your problem but remember always back up your files before doing anything.

same here keltikelti... SFGC too is my first online game and the only one until today... such as pathetic online of mine... lol...

well, i think it might related to the power/wattage of the overall system... IF you don`t need to use cd-rom at all, i guess you`re having no problem at all with your computer... but i think it`s time to play on a new computer... perhaps you`re having a new computer already... lol....

Hmm, how do you change it to `autoplay` and such? I`m a complete dummy comp wise.

lol... in your case keltikelti, a simple troubleshooting way is you can try to get a good cd-rom to test and see IF it`s going to give same result... IF it doesn`t, you`ll need a new cd-rom... IF it does, you`ll need a new pc instead... lol...

to troubleshoot any pc, the easiest way is to replace and test with a unit that is known good... BUT sometimes, malwares/viruses can create trouble to hardwares too... IF you`re having system more than 3 years, chances the problems lie more on the hardwares... IF it`s still new, try to check for malwares/virues first... then see IF the hardwares still under warranty...

anyway keltikelti... tell us more... how long you`re having your computer? which OS?

when the last time your cd-rom worked perfectly?

what the last thing you did b4 you`re facing such problem? any driver update? OS updates? any tinkering with Registry? any BSOD? any add on hardware with higher wattage rating such as display card or too many usb add-on?

there are more questions can be asked b4 we could find the real culprit but those are the general questions need to be asked first...

still... IF you`re not an adventurous type, pls do send to the specialist coz it will save you time, though you have to pay extra... lol...

lol... good suggestion Slavyzz... i aggreed with Infernal... it`s more fun... :D

ArchAng3l gives a good idea to settle it... sometime a good reboot will solve any pc problem... no kidding, it`s true... lol...

anyway, i`m not claiming any expert, i might be wrong at the end... but i handle technical support for my clients... this issue kinda normal when you accidently changed the settings whenever you put in usb drives, sd cards and CDs that are having different kind of files in them... it happened to me few times when i`m clicking too fast to close the box... i can`t give the details for vista or 7 coz i`m using the xp laptop now... but generally you either change it back in "AutoPlay" or "File Type"...

again... i might be wrong... but IF you cd-rom still can play the music, it`s something wrong with the settings...

i still assumed it`s windows... lol...

Do you have a warranty? If so follow these instuctions-

Take your desktop/laptop (whatever your using) and puyt it on your lawn.

Next buy an assortment of sodas and one small bottle of pure maple syrup.

Proceed to pour thse things on your keyboard (make sure you get a lot in there because the ppl who have to look at this stuff lead boring lives and it will give them something to talk about.

Next turn it in for a new one saying your little brother/sister/crazy aunt went nuts on it.

Pawn your mp3 player and hire a personal singer to hang out with you and sing songs.

If you dont have a good warranty then it is probably what VALJA said.

Well I`m not really good at those hardware stuff. but you can try to troubleshoot..

I hope the game disc you try to read used to be able to play on your cd drive. If it`s a new game disc, it might not have anything to do with mp3 player.

Try to put in other game disc or other type of similar disc. i.e. if your game disc is dvd disc, then try to see if your cd drive can read a dvd movie disc.

Try to reboot your computer to the last known good configuration.. maybe the mp3 player install some driver which mess up your cd drive when you plug it in.. so hopefully rebooting to previous configuration might solve the problem:

However if you have already restart your computer, the above method might not be useful. So you can try to do a system restore.

Btw if you don understand any of the above, pls don try it. You need some computer know-how to change computer setting. Final option is to call in computer technician to repair your comp.

i think you accidently changed the settings in "AutoPlay" option... try to find it in Control Panel OR through the CD-ROM`s option in My Computer...

i assumed you`re using Windows based OS... but which OS you`re using actually?

huh? you plugged in your mp3 player to your CD-rom drive to charge it? i thought mp3 player should be plug into usb port? is your CD-rom drive an external drive that is to be plug into usb port to use? or is it build in the laptop/desktop?
