How about if we remove the high end price caps on the RT market and see if the ability to charge more will release goods into the market?

If you are a miner that doesn`t want the caps removed, sell and keep the market supplied. An empty market frustrates newer players more than an expensive market.

Well lets just see how high the prices would actually go if the caps were removed (at least for a week). Something tells me that it wouldn`t sell much higher than 3000 per unit most of the time. I mean, it`s not like the server doesn`t have minerals. Rich folks are just hoarding it.

I guarantee you, if mineral prices went up, more people would be a miner, which would end up bringing prices down. Plus you never know when i rich guy hoarding minerals might decide to sell a huge stash of his minerals to raise some cash for himself.

I wish I made $5 for every GC I had. :P lol

The caps are as follows:
Food - 100
Ore - 10,000
Raw Materials - 3
Consumer Goods - 4
All Minerals - 1,000

Raising caps is pretty dumb, but CG`s could still be useful at cap 5, providing they give you more income per turn (so to speak). Food`s cap is just ridiculous (and yes, I`ve seen it capped out before). Min caps are perfectly fine. RM is never gonna go high, lol. Ore is a bit overpriced as-is. As it stands, you pay at least 3x the ship cost in minerals (unless you`re maru, lol), making it more would just make the game feel unbalanced towards newbies.

I say leave the caps alone, unless you wanna lower food to 20 or so (whenever miners stop making profit, don`t feel like calcing it) and up CG`s to 5.

i make 5$ for each GC
So if i buy them at 5 i make 0 profit.

If i buy for 6$ i lost 1$ for each CG used.

So there is no point in doing that for CG, minarals and ore is a other thing.
Food has no CAP besides you cannot post Food above a certain range.

So do that also for Minarals and ore.

As is, minerals sell like candy. It`s not the price thats an issue.

CGs will not sell for over 4 to anyone who knows how the game works. The potential end is that people with minerals might be more motivated to sell rather than stock pile, or even to become a mineral producer for the cash benefit.

now putting a cap on food isnt such a bad idea, 20ish be a nice cap, 17 is probably better..

... to what end? This wouldn`t change much, max cash is still 1tril, we still have the same incomes, all it would do is make us take longer to get enough cash to buy stuff, which just becomes an annoyance.

Besides, you don`t make a profit on cgs if they`re over $4, ore is already as expensive as it should be, minerals are perfectly fine, and removing the cap on food is just silly.
