Anyways the deal with stacking... spamming is the problem, how to solve the problem, well incentives yes.
But what if we could force stacking. Like setting Rules in the battle system itself.
How does the idea work? Take the top 10 stacks add up the total power then divid by time to get the ratio power per stack to be even.
Then with each stack that is selected filter it out by a RULE of if a ratio is OVER or UNDER.
So what would be the perfect ratios to make sure people stack 6 stacks min. & 10 stacks Max.
Note the core of 6-10, if a person stacks less then the desired 6 stacks or the ratios are off the stack doesnt take part in the battle... This is good for removing dummy stacks & spamming stacks.... ensuring more stacking balance.
a 6 stack without dummies can get flanks easy by a 10 stack. anyone get the idea? |

Badkarma on average 1st hit 1 win, 2nd hit 1 lose & 1 colony lose, thats average for me on RT, then for attacking on average 3 colony win.
Smiles i never did complete my 3 to 1 colony ratio. Maverick walks back out the door & hides back on slow. |
BadKarma 99+ day(s) ago | also you mentioned the no retal ships flanking and losing them etc. I use them down low so i can get DP`d on the first hit of a spam. Better than losing top 2 stacks and 1 colony n not DP`d then hit again for another colony and 4 stacks. By putting ships without no retal ability on bottom, okay you lose 3 stacks 1 col, but you`re DP`d. Also you`re left with the rest of you ships WITH the ability of no retal... making a counter attack a great possibility of a wipeout win.
Does that all make sense? |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | I`ve developed a better battle system. I just don`t have a working system to test it in yet. :P Actually, I`ve developed two better battle systems. One GC-like but fixed and one based on the concept but quite different. It`s just pointless trying to improve GC right now except for ships because it`s not going to happen.
And agreed, Dank. The idea to `fixing` stacking must be to make it less viable, less overwhelmingly powerful and give the lower turn fleets a better chance to win... but still keep it as an alternative, useable for certain situations. |
DankMasterSkorp 99+ day(s) ago | 1) BadKarma`s response may not have satisfied you but it is accurate. In real life a country could mass produce one type of assualt vehicle or troop and attack a country with it. Results may vary just like in this game.
2) If I was to restart as Viral what the hell would you expect me to do? Research all the neutral ships and then stack with them? How long would it take me to start Reverse Engineering ships that I actually want to use?
Honestly it isn`t that hard to beat spam...
And leave UC over there for the kiddies :P |

Vendeen details on that UC thing, just curious what they do over there, im sure i probably wont copy it but who knows.

Nedflanders 3 rounds are extreme, Thats kinda of like wiping out one of both fleets, ya it would help for spamming, but there is still the problem i hate about GC itself in general, NO RETAL SHIPS, yes they are kool yes they work great, but seriously when ur flanking a spam i dont think its fair for that ship to fire back... if you got no-retal your lower stacks dont take any damage but not every race has no retal ships.
Squaks Guard ships rock, they are great for stacking, i`ll agree with you its other races that have small ships that have issues with spamming vs those of bigger ships & no retal ships. |

Squaks 99+ day(s) ago | angel you must not understand the mods on guard ships and how to beat them and such, i feel a stack of 10 will beat a stack on 6 mainly because of the 4 bottom stacks, if you are smart you will have great flankers down there to wipe out the dummies and flank on next round, its all depends on the situation, and guards might have high mods in some resists but it also has extremely neg mods in the others |
