  Good planets per turn spent

Has anyone ever worked out an average for the number of over 800 barren planets a player can expect per turn or play hour spent?

Or for U. planets?

Just curious.

if wanted I can dig up my spread sheet on my other computer that I copmpiled. Think it has 20k explored planets worth of info.

Just hope it`s still there

yes Macbeth, that`s basically what i was trying to say :)

Cane of course you can determine averages to exploring certain types of planets its just a statistic, I bet if VALJA has record how many turns it took between each U.Large he found, he could give you a pretty accurate average.

What your suggesting (and correctly I think) is that due to the many variables, the variance of the turns between `good` is very large (i.e the data is very spread). This means you have to explore thousands upon thousands before averages and trends start to appear.

yeah

s.class are very rare and obviously very special ^_^

i found an s. desert on fast that was nearly 1.4k land and that`s without a paid account. the biggest normal planet i`ve ever explored for really :P

Planet Generation is almost completely random although the server does sometimes create planet twins (two planets of roughly equal stats and size etc.

Paid account multiplies the land of a colony by a random number between 1 and 1.20 (120%) this is where the possibility of greater land comes in. so you could get no extra land you could get 120% more :)
And yes you are marginally more likely to find u.class planets at rare time.

ya UW are always great IMHO also spending the billions you`d lse anyway =P

to answer AdAstraPerAspera`s question..
i really don`t think it`s possible to form a mathmatical `average` on the rate of explored planets
there`s just too many variables in the code that make it completely random

though, there are certain things you can do to increase your chances
for instance, it is known that it`s a little bit easier to find better planets at certain times of the day.
i think exploring during rare dig times is one of them.
also, having a paid account can increase your chances. although having a paid doesn`t neccessarily directly increase the land sizes, you are able to find barrens that have higher then 950 land, so it indirectly increases the chances for finding higher land planets by a small percentage

other then that, it`s just too random. i remember times where i wanted a U.Spaz, and spent 15 straight hours exploring all day and never found one until i finally gave up.
the next day, i was just exploring for barrens, and i ended up getting 3-4 U.spaz`s within 40 minutes

though i guess you can explore over a very long period of time (like a month) write down how many you get, and find a ballpark `average` that way.
but even doing that, i`m pretty sure if you did the same thing another month, your outcome would (or could) be a lot different then the first time

Arch is right, a lot of good stuff can happen during a UW =)

i always though UW`s were a good planet explore time =)

The first time i ever explored i got a U class 9205 land, havn`t gotten another u since.

it varies alot... i once spent an entire day only getting 10 or so 850+ barrens, while i got over a dozen u class. in one instance i explored 6 planets and 3 were u class. sometimes i`ll go a day without seeing one. same for barrens etc etc.
