The above is a list of all my empires in GC. The names used have a theme - they are associated with the pulp fiction character Conan of Cimmeria created by Robert Ervin Howard. "The Whole Wide World" is a movie about Robert E. Howard's love interest.
Since I will no longer be playing this game, I will come clean with my history in this game & offer a little trivia.
I started in GC Ultra at a time when nexous was supreme. Being new to the game, like most of the players then, I did embarrass myself fighting him. When he left, GC Ultra lost its shine for me - I didn't like waiting for turns & opponents to fight - & I went over to GC RT (or AO as it was known then).
After going as far as I could as a solo empire, I left the game. I came back into this game as WholeWideWorld when I noticed my old nemesis, area51, had a string of c3s in his empire again. However, after having rejoined, I found that my old nemesis & his fed was no longer top dog; the current masters of the server then being the thunderdogs.
Since the fall of the thunderdogs, I haven't really been active except for a few skirmishes with distemper & allies & being the bane of exploration UWs. |

I remember the last 2 days you were a terran and me and you sat in the top 5 and fought off the entire thunderdogs ad underdog fed led by appollo. Those were some fun times.

The reason I plundered my c3`s was indeed for you + for my uw :), I had no borders left and you had 5 or 6 counters probably so I rather plunder them then let them fall in enemy hands :). You were the greatest enemy of bc in `03 (without counting pubsman :p) for sure.

I do not think that Stephen knew an exploration UW was possible or had planned for it when he formulated his game. The objective of the early game was a battling UW.
Some time into the game, it was realized that such a strategy was possible to complete the UW. However, no one attempted it as it was generally accepted to be a loophole & was not in the spirit of the game.
When Infinite completed the 1st exploration UW, nexous launched a verbal tirade, and you could not find a single person who would defend its merits. Yet, after he left, more & more players began justifying the legitimacy of the exploration UW, due in no small measure to Stephen ignoring calls to remove it & his making provisions for it.
I believe the exploration UW was the last straw which caused Tregelen to leave. On this issue, I am in agreement with nexous & Tregelen - this game is called Galactic CONQUEST & not Galactic EXPLORATION (or, for that matter, Galactic DIGGING).
This is why I've always made it a point to go after exploration UWs. However, if I'm right about the reason for my suspension, it is no longer possible to stop an exploration UW.

Unlike the rest of your brethren in BC 03, you were at least courteous & sporting in our encounters. You were probably the only player who recognized the possibilities of my UW attempt; the rest of the server were oblivious as to what could have been if not for Stephen & his update.
I was squatting in your fed for a while hoping that I'd get the chance to spar with you again.
I hope your absence is not due to medical reasons again & wish you good health.

The BC website had a page asking the original members to return. I had a good laugh seeing chimereans name on the list. This poor empire was expelled from & punished by BC 03 for sticking to his principles in holding up his end of his nap with me.

I never did help you do a UW like I promised. Nevertheless, you managed to pull one off while I was away. You will be pleased to know that your style of exploration UWs can no longer be stopped. I never set out to crush you but you guys asked for it when you decided to go for exploration UWs. The journey was fun. At the outset, BC 03 had in excess of 18 c3s. I had sutra & kevio plundering their c3s, I suspect to avoid them falling into my hands. I literally killed wizzy & freakn. I stripped area51 of almost all his c3s (I think he had no less than 12). I think all my c3s came from your fed alone. And, it was an A. Miner which inflicted all this damage.

You're a good comrade to those you know but a vicious adversary to your enemies. When you knew me as cimmeria, you offered me your BruceAlmighty a/c on GC Ultra (mine being expired) so that I could go silence some loudmouths who felt that GC RT players lacked skill compared to turn-based players. However, when you knew me as rervinh, you had nothing but contempt for me while I ripped you to pieces.
As a footnote, I killed your guardian empire when you got suspended & stole your last 3 c3s from right under the circling thunderdogs' noses - a feat no longer possible since it is now cause for suspension.

I make it a point to read forum posts by vets. However, your posts always gives me a headache. For goodness' sake, learn to punctuate. I'm sure they have punctuation in your language & do wash out your mouth once in a while.

Probably, the highest colony count in GC history (I think I had close to 30 w/o the use of pcc)
Longest online time (I had more than 24 hrs online time in a day)
