  Battles do not make sense

I am trying to understand battles/enslavement, but am finding out they don`t make much sense.

1) How am I ever going to break from paying tribute when my attacker has over 1Million in power and keeps going into damage protection (I am trying to stay under 5000 in power). I think I should be able to attack when he is weak.

2) Every time I find some planets, they get taken away. I cannot build up enough revenue to keep defensive ships on hand.

3) 3 H.Galleon Destroyers should not be able to defeat a fleet of 30 Small Strafez Runner and 30 Small Strafez Fodder. The Destroyers should be only able to engage 3 units at a time. Even with longer range, eventually the Runners should be able to attack and institute the "No Retaliation" ability. Not be able to kill all of the Runners before being hit, the Runners should eventually destroy the Destroyers (regardless of power).

Can someone make some sense or fix this?

forgot to elaborate more... incase you or anyone new that still dunno this... never ever build offensive ships to free yourself or seaching for planets while in DP... use starbases or scouts ONLY... building starbases and scouts won`t take you out of DP... have a pleasant time in GC... :)

Plus, offensive strafez have super-low health. Only... 1 on the small runners, I believe. Which gives 30 runners a grand total of 30 health. Whereas each galleon has 900 kinetic damage. Do the math, mate.

Galleons don`t engage three units of a stack at a time. They engage all the units in a stack. Essentially, the game adds up all the damage the galleons can do (3 X 900), put in shield modifiers (approx. x 2), which gives the galleons 5400 damage against the 30 health small runners. Becaus the galleons hit first with their 9 range (over 7 range), they wipe the runners in one shot.

First of all, being a slave is not always a bad thing. I think a lot of people automatically take a negative view towards it because it uses the words "slave". If you are a recently new empire, being a slave might actually help you. Your master may decide to send you ships to aid you in defensive battles (this is a choice...not all masters do this). Look, I know that no one likes being a "slave", but since you are trying to stay under 5k PR and your master is over 1 mill PR (you need 10x your master`s PR to declare independence)...just let it go and try to build up your empire. Eventually, you will be able to free yourself if you so desire.

Make sure you have researched your tech tree and your infrastructre correctly (like commercial for terran, etc.). Try to have a decent amount of money before you come out of newbie protection (so you can finance a small fleet to defend yourself). Always have atleast three border planets so if you do lose a battle you will only lose three useless planets. Keep your clusters, u.larges, etc. as far away from your borders as possible.

As for your example with the Galleons and Strafez Fodder I think Karolinema explained it quite well. You need to learn about shields on all of your ships if you have not already. Each ship usually has a positive modifier (is stronger against some types of weapons) and a negative modifier (is weaker against some types of weapons). Using your example, the Galleons use kinetic damage and your fodder has a huge negative modifier (-99% is a lot) against kinetic.

in ur example, runners vrs galleons u lost cause galleons shoot kinetic and runners has a - 99 % shield against that. since galleons shot first cause of range 9 aganst ur runners 7 u will get wiped pretty easy. to kill galleons use herc, thor or nirvs on careful. to learn more about ships go to

1) You need to be more than 10x PR of your master... since your master is having 1 million of PR, you should be more than 10 million in PR to free yourself... other than that, try to wait until your master`s PR is lower enough for you to break free... but like it or not, if your master still having 500k of PR, you`ll need to be above 5 million of PR... remember... 10x of your master`s PR...

2) After you`re being attacked, stay in DP to explore planets that you want to keep... b4 going out of DP again, make sure you have 3 useless planets to be a buffer or borders so anyone that attacks you won`t get your important planets...

3) Please refer to others coz stacking is not my forte... :)
