It was a short battle; the Exulians did not have much in the way of a military. The fires of the burning capital could be seen from low orbit. Victor stood looking out through the window of his ship.
"In fact," he thought, "their defenses were so poor that I managed to take the planet with a single vessel."
Victor gazed at the multitude of infected ships flying by. He had managed to get permission to land in the small docking bay of a Garuda class Terran destroyer under the guise of a ship in need of immediate medical supplies. From there it was easy, he simply went about infecting the entire crew with the 106 strain. As the destroyer was virtually the planet`s only defense aside from a few squadrons of fighters on the surface, the conquest was relatively simple after hijacking the comparatively larger vessel. Victor had his new crew replace the energy weapons with chemical dispersal units and simply went about gassing the entire populace with his viral agent from orbit, causing each person`s genetic code to mutate in the most painful fashion imaginable. Now he stood peering down upon the first Hive World in a long list of ones that would share in Exule`s fate. While making ready the preparations needed to launch his various military campaigns, he staggered and dropped to his knees from the sheer, piercing pain that had begun to spike through his head. The Voice had come to him again.
"Victor, you have done well. I now want you to visit the rest of the planets in the solar system. On one of them you will find the special strafez organism that you will need to extract in order to construct your fleets of Borrelly Destroyers. Go now, and finish this task I have given you."
"Your will be done, master. I shall not disappoint you."
The pain receded and with that, Victor got back to his feet and gave orders for every flight-worthy ship to be rigged with chemical weapons for spreading his plague. He had a job to do...
