Well as the topic states...what do you personally think happens to the planets you plunder in the game beides deleting the code for them from the game?
Do you think the settlers just pack their gear up and leave? Or do they nuke the thing from orbit with the philosophy of `If I can`t have it, no-one can!` or something else entirly?
In my mind I see a small cutter type craft or frigate with a battery of antimatter missiles just launching at the planets surface after it`s been looted for all it`s worth in a short space of time. Pretty much sterilizing it or igniting the gas giants to mini suns till they burn out their hydrogen gases and other fusionable materials.
That...or that planet eating ship from the original Transformers cartoon movie going munch munch.... |

The colony is evacuated and then your fleet bombards the planet with high energy plasma from orbit, effectively melting and fusing all particles together into a smooth sheening glass. Just like how the Covenant Glass worlds in the Halo novels.
Then, when your done, you strike the giant marble with a tiny hammer, after it shatters you can sell the shards!!! :0) |

What makes me feel good about being a marauder is the sad weepy little ones all covered in snot that I throw out the airlock. Makes you feel good to be alive doesn`t it just. |

99+ day(s) ago | They (the plunderers) obviously loot all the goodies, set fire to the houses with one of those old fashioned torches, rape all the dogs and drink all the beer (in any order - personally I would drink the beer first it makes the dog raping more bearable. After that they all have a lil ceremonial dance with the tops off, before flushing the planet down the galactic poop pipe. yep |

99+ day(s) ago | Yeah, I`m pretty sure they get nuked because I was on the video-phone with my parents on their home planet when someone attacked, took their planet and immediately plundered it. The planet exploded before my very eyes. So I swore a blood oath against the guy who killed my family. Now if I could just remember who that guy was. . .

Depending how much hydrogen is wiped out in the initial antimatter detonation and assuming it didnt obliterate the core.
Stellafying a gas giant can be done, just takes alot of time and energy...but I think it`s a cool idea |
