fermion 99+ day(s) ago | I would preferre a starbase with more dammage than high shilelds. With the current low-dammage level, the other races can attack a.miner basically without risking their own fleet. If you significantly increase the shields of the starbases they maybe sustain the initial blow without giving you DP, and it follows a whiping. Well, that gives a.miner more slots for counter, but not more chances, at least on round-based servers, where your turns are limiting. If the starbases can whipe the attacking fleet, people would think twice if they attack in the first place.

Gornach 99+ day(s) ago | fermion: sure it's hard to get there offensive ships build in time. On RT. it can be made up for in digs, so you can use Time Capsules to boost the rate.
Dreamland: Not really and if they got better shields to there Starbases and 1 or 2 of there normal ships. They would actually fit what is stated about there race. A defensive race with good Hull and Shields.
There long range Starbase is more or less fodder with loads of hull, but not much shields to defend it. So give it some better Shields, to add up for the lack of attack ability ?? |

The problem is, that there are only very few ships with acceptable build rate, and there are many ships with intercangeable attributes like the C.Cancer-light, aehm i ment the M.Clor, and thats even a better one.
Gornach: They do have ok ships to retal any kind of ships....
The main problem is the build rate of these ships, since if you are out of dp as a.miner for some hours you are a sitting duck. Everyone knows, that high-pr miners have mainly strafez and starbases, so atacking also a high-pr a.miner is only a minimum-risk task.

Well i appreciate your aim, but stephen hasnt moved for the last two years, and in this last note

They are a defensive race, that lack defense. Even this Race can win battles in offense and defense.
They have a big load of ships to take from, so use them make it hard to predict the ships used, in defense and use Starbases to give some PR. to get past the normal fighter pirates, that should give you the chance to build up a good stack. They do have ok ships to retal any kind of ships.
Aha that might be the reason they are called defensive :-))

as much as i would love to see the mineral cap like that, it would be impossible to make it different for all races, And the idea that was brought up before (Capping buying to a number but allowing storage over that) would require GC to be updated to the 1.07 backend (Read thatll happen when it happens....)
As someone below, the PR is set to a fdormula, but that and a few other things are up for a tweak or two, and all changes that require stephen to do nothing but change some database values... whats the worst that could happen >.<

LordDrewski 99+ day(s) ago | Something I would have liked to see is a higher build rate for epidotes, chlorties, calcites, etc. That is the main reason you rarely see miners above 100 mil pr, it is hard for a miner to build that high without getting hit, *cough* *cough* *TBK* , and even if they do leave ya alone it can still take a few days. |

- pr is controlled by scanner rating.
- Lichtor is a fast-buildrate ship, that does not make him a good ship. The comparation to the usual guardian G-Class basically tells it all.
- with only +50% dammage, the Kryo still has a dammage to pr ratio of 1:10 = laughable. Everything below 1:3 can be (concerning the gameplay) approximated by zero.

Evane 99+ day(s) ago | Leave power rating for starbases/lictor what they are currently. Just triple damage and increase hull by 50% for lakko. Kryo damage should be increased by 50%. And hakkos damage/hull should be increased by 50%. Mineral storage should be what it is currently. Industry should be more effective, maybe taxing should be a little better to mitigate the base PRs tax miners have to suffer(sometimes around 750k base pr with 35 planets) and also pull miners through times of crazy high food prices .
The lictor is fine. If you look at some of guardians fastest building ships(emerald/corundum) you will understand what I mean. I think livid just needs a build rate of 3 instead of 2. In my opinion it has a good use against UW`s(fodder) but builds to slowly for that. Starbases need flanking.
I think it might be a overall good idea to increase max mineral/CG price. (And of course CG value to population would need to be increased) |
fermion 99+ day(s) ago | Dont give the miners more money, they have more than they can spend. Give them suitable starbaseses. Increase their dammage by factor 5, and decrease scanner by factor five and you are done. Thats two integer numbers to change in the code, but we all now know only two good, that you can not do this whyever.
Your suggestion to build starbases with the current starbase-ratings must be a joke.
