EvilAbadayos 2008-06-08 | | how to block sites on fire fox | | I am trying to block the annoying counter links when I load a page on GC. I used to be able to but cannot remember how i did it.
I want to do it because it speeds up load time and I dont want my page loads to count for some annoying off site thingy I didn`t agree to.
This is one of the things I want to block:
http://w0.extreme-dm.com/ (followed by a load of gibberish and encoded junk)
Any assistance? |

qwerty360 99+ day(s) ago | you could just stick the url in the hosts file with a non existant ip since a lookup is done against that before a DNS request is sent... |
EvilAbadayos 99+ day(s) ago | got it worked out now. Thanks alot guys |
CounterCrazy 99+ day(s) ago | Not sure exactly but ya picking out what cookies to accept & deny is a good one to do. Ad blocking programs work great as well they flirter out keywords most ads links use |
Moops 99+ day(s) ago | i dunno how to do it in firefox, but its pretty simple if you run through your own proxy server |
ThEpAkIsTaNIeMpIrE 99+ day(s) ago | look i was messing around with my to see, and i see that its a pop up crab, you can either disable popups, or block the whole thing, do you know how to disable cookies, well try this go to tools web developer cookies+ disable cookies and then disable all exteran site cookies should do it. |
