Ragnarok 2008-02-12 |  | anti spam idea |  | I`m not sure if someone already suggested this, but here it goes. People want to find ways to curb spamming, so my idea is this.
1) Eliminate flanking losses. It annoys me to no end that flanking stacks can lose ships even when it attacks the top stack unless it has no retal. Like if stack 3 garuda attacks a nirv spam, the garuda can be completely wiped out depending on the size of each stack`s fleet size. To encourage spamming, make it so that flanking ships experience NO losses.
2) Give an attack bonus to flanking stacks. Either an across the board bonus like +10% to attack if flanking, or make it incramental. So suppose you have 10 stacks attacking a 1 ship spam. Here is an EXAMPLE of what the attack/defense bonus would look like:
1. 0%
2. 5%
3. 10%
4. 15%
5. 20%
6. 25%
7. 30%
8. 35%
9. 40%
10. 45%
The greater the stack difference, the greater the attack bonus. So lets say you have 10 stack fleet attacking a 9 stack fleet. If stack #10 attacks the defender`s #1 stack, that ship gets a 45% attack bonus. If that ship attacks the #9 stack however, it`s only 5% bonus. If combined with regular ships not experiencing losses when attacking ships without the "no defense" feature, this could be quite deadly for spams.
AGAIN, the attack bonus don`t have to be at this level. They can be significantly lower (maybe a 20% cap). Just whatever isn`t game breaking. This will require tinkering of the code but..........whatever. Maybe one of you might be able to use this if anyone ever gets around to cloning GC. |

Omegian 99+ day(s) ago | First of all, UC is updated alot regarding spam stacking, thus you cant spam there, everything has to be within 10% of the next stacks pr for it to be called balanced and you get an attack bonus.
And no UC is not a testing ground for GC anymore, they went their own seperate ways after an update 2 years ago. |
