I`ve got a question about why we can`t restart the whole sever from the begining? The latest UW proved people are bored and arn`t trying on here anymore so why not restart to pump some laction back in and give everyone including the new people and chance. Go ahead and post you comments though I feel this will be a flame war but I had to say what I think about this game atmosphere. |

GC is dead. it died with the crash which took Stephen`s beta rewrite down the drain some years ago. without an architecture change nothing decent can and will be done with it. so, if you hope for a major update, dream on. and without a major update this game will die in truth. or will be buried, as i already said it`s dead. no rejuv on the side (as i`m doing) will really make it better, not for long.
see alexa.com`s stats. gc accounts to 3% activity on spacefed. it`s insignificant and i gather the only reason it hasn`t been scrapped is because (1) it does bring some profits and/or (2) it would be bad for PR to close it down.
i was thinking for a while to mash it up with another system, but i`ll never have the right user saturation to introduce any significant features. not with the limitations of cross-frame browsing, really.
btw, though, if you really want to see a decent game set up a wiki somewhere and start brainstorming ideas...
now, excuse me, but i`ve got to go take a steamy hot bath :D |

99+ day(s) ago | well at first he put lots of time into GC and tried to make it the best game in the business but then he just disappeared and then made uc what it is and still nothing on GC..... i still think GC should have projects like uc to buy projects and stuff for example a DNA restructure where u pay like 24.95 dp`s and u can restart and keep your planets and infra ... or a caymans timebank like uc has where u can hold up to 500 turns in the bank and on larger time stored servers u can have more in the bank.... it would get more money into GC and then maybe stephen would realize it start doing things for GC like he did with uc |

99+ day(s) ago | actually, I believe Stephen created UC first. He left UC and did GC. So I can understand why he would want to go back and update UC and make it the game it is today. When I first came around, very few people played UC and now it has a huge player base. But now that he`s accomplished that, it`s time to come back and play around with GC some more... |

99+ day(s) ago | YES..... only way to bring back people is to update the game.... and maybe advertising on the same sites that stephen does with uc..... stephen i think forgot about the game that made him a good gaming creator.... he ditched GC for uc and if he put the same care into gc as uc, GC would probably have 2X more ppl than uc instead of the other way around |

99+ day(s) ago | If you want people to come back to the game, it needs "regular" updates. This game received it`s last major update on April 7, 2004. That`s almost 4 years ago now. At that time there were regularly 400+ people online at any given time.
Also- this game had better battles when it was still just 6 stacks of ships instead of 10. People actually stacked back then instead of spamming. |

99+ day(s) ago | anybody that says uc takes no skill then they obviously don`t play uc or they really suck at it.... alright i played uc and was top 50 in planets when i left and i know many uc`ers that come play gc and think gc is easier... gc is extremely easy... i played gc after i stopped on uc and its a million times easier...... i was in the top fed of u when i played (HH) and i also had my own top 10 fed for a while... any op can be broken it just takes skill and lots of work about how each ship`s weaknesses are ..... ppl say uc is what hurts GC .... no its not..... everyone just blames that.... and lyriel there are only 6 ships in a stack because u get 4 stacks of op ( 3 from fed and 1 from lord/vassal)... so u obviously must not play uc or u extremely suck at it

It took me almost 2 years to get what i`ve got and eh if someone forse reset`s my account i would be pissed!
If the server gets reset people would sue Stephen, and beleive me when i say this, only way Ste could get out of it would be to close GC
(otherwise people would be entitled to full compensation)
I respect stephen and other members of GC.
But the point is, if someone did, it would be the end of GC..
(I studied law, so i know what im talking about)
Anyway, what if some new player joins up, and within a month gets forse reset. They would leave, It would quite honestly destroy GC...
Best way would be, do 90% reset`s on minerals and cash ;) people of GC support,
it happens.. And no one leaves ;) |

99+ day(s) ago | The latest UW proved that the server needed it.... It`s been so long since the last one. I just restarted my empire a few days ago so that would have been really annoying if i had to restart after i just restarted.....
I think everyone just supported the the UW so it was very successful. |

At least GC takes skill... on UC if you have a fed and everyone has ships in their outpost, no one can attack you...
also, only 6 types of ships are allowed in a stack... |

I have no idea how to fix the lack of people here... maybe if we abolished UC :) |
