I Figured someone Would make a thread about this again, So If you want to discuss the mineral bot that has just been set up again please do so here.

The reasons for doing this are?
Well GC is looking slightly limp at the moment to say the least. If you were a new signup, the excuse of "Just wait 2 hours hitting reload" doesnt exactly cut it.
We need new meat, and before that happens, We need to keep those that do come in. And those that have been around a long time and wish to complain, try restarting as terran and getting set up. It isnt easy and it defeats the purpose of the game, To have a past time where you can Have fun :)

99+ day(s) ago | Basian, your right for long term, and GC needs a major facelift (IE) update or patch ... we shall see how this goes short term with the bot reinstated as more miners that just switched either go back terran or stay, Kalzul is a fishy bot in a sense, where ive seen 300 day miners go terran then get *screwd* by it being disabled and no minerals on market*

99+ day(s) ago | See your missing my point Malaysi, I`m saying that with proper balancing, there wouldn`t be a need for it, in fact with a few additions, there wouldn`t be a need for a mineral bot. Heck its only RT, and its only been "recent" in GC history that this has been needed. What is the cause? Well its been said.
How about instead of fixing the symptoms of the problem, the programmers actually go out and fix the problem. But alas, that requires more then what the staff can do(and i imagine that if it was in their power, they would have done it a while ago.)
For right now, to make the game playable, add the bot in, in the long run, its gotta go. There is hardly any substance to GC (in comparison to other games) why take more away from it.
For those who will undoubtly say... well it takes time to balance the game... yes we all know, but there hasn`t even been an effort to balance it... (how many patches and changes has Blizzard made to WoW since its release...? and when was the last one...?)

99+ day(s) ago | partly im a bit pissed, they say they`d let the bot run and that is why i changed from a miner. Listen, i changed from a miner. I think that speaks for itself. Okay i was bored assed for 300 days of straight a miner... But still, they switched i off in a few days. I am a bit discontented. want the game to be fun without balancing? dang it switch on the mineral bot, it does not make a difference if the botters and whoever horde or not, but it does make a difference to click on the market for dang hours. Honestly to those who have played their way through fair and square, this isnt what is deserved. Im sure there are a lot of honest players out there. |

99+ day(s) ago | No its not just bots, with bots people could make money, and it took a little bit for them to reach max credits, and UW`s were common enough to kinda slow the growth of the "mega" empires. But since dineros have become popular, people want to hide their cash, making mineral hording extremely popular.
You are right, balancing the game will solve the problem, but that takes a lot of time and effort, something that seems to be in short supply. To solve the problems that are being discussed in this thread, well there are plenty of fixes that do not require a major update **cough** imposing max credit limits **cough** imposing max purchasing limits** cough**... some changes that have been requested are just simple variable changes (which if the game is programmed for half a dang, then they would be really quick and easy one number changes.... )
but hey, its stephens game, let him do what ever he wills, this game is no longer about who has the most skill, its who lets their bot run the longest, who has the most land, and who can build ships the quickest, no sense of balance or worth challenge |

Well, ive been around games which has massive botting communities and i`d tell you, botting is not the root of the problem, true that the problem wont be killed off but because there exist a big temptation not just for cheating to gain an upper hand but almost becomes a necessity which is due to imbalance within a game itself. For all i know, why not include a macro software here? In essence, the game is just like any other treadmilling RPG which leads to people to bot or to farm or something. Addictive this game is, but dynamic i dont think. |

99+ day(s) ago | about the click bot that so many people uses.... why have stephen never done anything about it? in the 2 years that im playing gc its well known that people use it. and its easy to stop this cheating. on uc there is an anti bot feature that works fine. should be easy for stephen to implement it on gc too right? Now with sooo many players using a auto clicker ofcourse the market is always dry :( |

And maybe they feel cheated, knowing what others do... And are disappointed with actions taken against botting...

I know what you are doing Belial, and with your limited resoureces its probably the best thing...
The problem of lack of minerals is multifold and has already been stated by qwerty, and thus the staff knows about it.
This has been pointed out before you were playing Merlin, stephen has known about it, it is only in recent times has the issue become more relavent, as empires grown in age and power, and gordos and U and S classes are found, new bots are written, people have amassed a very large buying power. Before Dineros were popular, people would hit max credits, and it was impossible to tell who exactly was botting... now people hide their botting cash with minerals.
Mineral shortages are not caused by lack of miners, inappeal of miners, or any such thing. 1 to 2 miners per mineral are all that are needed to sufficiently sustain RT without horders.
The Bot is a temp solution (or at least most should be hoping it is). It removes a very important aspect of game play, and destroys some enjoyment. It was always fun looking at the market an hour or 2 before a UW went off to get a clue as to the ships the UW holder wsa going to use, but now... you can`t do that (note it was because the holders fed was buying up the minerals nessicery to build the counter ships...)
You say no one has offered to help?!? well sorry Merlin, but other then post ideas for others to view, and the staff to look at, and discuss, there is nothing that non-malyassians can do... we can just sit here and watch forever. Don`t even attempt an E-Mail, cuz stephen never reads the things...
But hey, Merlin, you are probably 16 years old, and think you know everything... hey whatever. Just letting you know that the real facts are already known... and you don`t need to argue about them anymore. |

I`m not even going to bother replying to the likes of Omegian and LordDrewski, they arent worth the keystrokes to reply to since they are being FAR more abusive than they should be. Rules apply in the forum JUST as much as in the game.
As to the bot being deactivated, if it has been deactivated it`s because of the minority of whingers in GCRT who want to DICTATE how the game goes in RT. Belial might as well just leave the bot deactivated and let players suffer because of the minority.
And then people wonder just why GC is going the way it is. |
