thunderonian 2007-05-10 | | which one you think is better? | | which one you think is better - argi terran or comm terran?
personally i like argi terran better than comm terran more profitable =D |
|
Anfit 99+ day(s) ago | that`s why i said the bottom price for food is 3.8
three POINT eight.
the only problem with food is that it simply won`t sell if there is noone to buy - as i think it`ll be the case for ultra soon enough... |
Metsu{PP} 99+ day(s) ago | just to point out Arg wins over commerical - its just handy for newcommers to start off as Commerical so they get the hang of things - but once you got EXP & if the market is good - Then Arg is the way forward.
Another benefit with ARG is that you never need to worry over having food to feed thoses terrans ~floats off to kill some terrans~ |
Pestilence 99+ day(s) ago | i see urber panzy is getting emotional in its failed attempt to prove a point, but then i dont blaim him, what panzy has to realise is the differnce between me and him is, i know and know from experiance, he thinks he knows, bless cant help but pitty the delusional
but what ever makes u happy at the end of the day uve been told, if u choose not to beleavie it then thats ur progatives, but its ur loss, end of (now keep me out of it or i`ll go for harrasment) - i get grouchy after being up 49 hours- |
ThePansy 99+ day(s) ago | cynth - with food at 4 you can just about break even, especially when you factor in cluster bonuses - most people have at least c1s right?
So:
(food @ 4) x (1.2 ag bonus) = 4.8 base income... only .2 less than comm
take that times a 1.1 c1 bonus and you`re looking at income of 5.28 per turn |
thunderonian 99+ day(s) ago | doesnt matter until the price drop to below 3 credits per unit of food that why some agri terrans keep some u.large or barren to place commercial |
Cynthelion 99+ day(s) ago | ThePansy, that`s nice, but what happens when food is selling at 4, like it did on Fast before the last UW?
Point taken on research levels, though. |
{Veil} 99+ day(s) ago | lmao i know.. as a comm terran with 150k land.. if i was an agri terran.. jeesussss i would make a lot
but its kool, cuz i enjoy the challenge of com terran much more |
ThePansy 99+ day(s) ago | wrong again |
ThePakistaniEmpire 99+ day(s) ago | agricuture tarren does really good ame with industry tarren both are quick ways of getting money |
DrunkenMasters 99+ day(s) ago | pestilence -> don`t make silly comments when you really have no idea about what you are talking |
UberPansy 99+ day(s) ago | by n.oobs i mean new players trying to decide which enonomy type is better |
UberPansy 99+ day(s) ago | btw plz no n.oobs listen to Pestilence - he doesn`t know what he`s talking about
seriously... I`m not bashing him I`m just speaking the truth :S
Pestilence, plz stop saying that comm makes more money - EVER. Maybe in your imaginary world it does but in the reality of spacefed economics commercial will NEVER EVER make more money than agriculuture in the long run. If you don`t believe me calculate it out yourself. |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | if the food price was at 50 miners would be making roughly 10x the amount of a commercial terran with same land and infra lvl |
Pestilence 99+ day(s) ago | uber panzy agri for terren i admit is fast money but in the end u loose out, terren comm can make money and profit from buying food as high as 45 on the market terren make a hell of a lot more on tax specialy with goods which is why collective have the binus for agri not terren, had a fed once tha boosted food price to 50 was a amazing accomplishment but didnt last my goodness the amount of complaints cant remember the fed i was in thou, but no seriously a comm terren maybe not when u just started but once uve stablised and established ur empire makes a lot more money, or depends agri quick and easy, comercial long but more money |
Archaeoptyrex 99+ day(s) ago | you`ll be making food on at least c2`s ... you have to add in an extra 20% bonus. With the bonus on U ferts, a decent sized U fert is comparable to a small-ish U large.
Always always go agri terran :)
For food to be "low" for a terran is food at 3 -- and that is very rare and never lasts more than a week ... In my almost 3 years of playing the game, I`ve only seen food down to 2 on rt for an extended period of more than a day once (it was for like a week?). Within a couple of months food had shot up to 15, so lol food food food.
People think "agri income is variable". Yes, but its (95%+) of the time more profitable than commerce. Consistency isn`t a good thing by itself. If its always worse, that just means consistency is always bad ... |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | As it has been said agri terran is more profitable generally although you have to be prepared for changes in the food price.
When food is low for a sustained period it is normal for players to switch to other races or tax empires(rt as switching can be done fast) this will increase the price normally between 10 and 20 meaning its not profitable to be tax and people change to agri because of high food price. This isnt something that happens fast but normally slowly over time.
If you are prepared to be selling food at 5 or possibly 4 then you will still make roughly the same as a comm terran and once the food increases you can make over double a comm terran would |
UberPansy 99+ day(s) ago | Pestilence, wtf are you talking about.
Time for my comparison again:
Reseach:
Commercial - lvl 0
Agriculture - lvl 0
Income:
Commercial - 5
Agriculture - (Price of food) X 1.2
Now as long as food is selling for about 5 credits or more you are making more money with ag... you can add on additional bonuses for clusters, possibly forests (though they kind of stink), and especially the insanely profitable U. Fertiles as the game progresses. |
Pestilence 99+ day(s) ago | personaly comm terren is the best becouse they loose more money to food, but a lot of terrens dont see this becouse food is a quick money fixer and they dont have the paitiance to see it, but buying food is cheaper for a terren up to abou tthe price of 45 i think it was |
Anfit 99+ day(s) ago | not fully... how do you explain the crash, otherwise? |
Bobbysindustrialpat 99+ day(s) ago | Anfit:"on normal rubber was the farmer."
How`d he manage that with all infected clusters? |
