GC is full of extremely different people that all have at least a few odd things in common that bond us together, in one way or another. It takes a certain, uncommon, type of person to truly enjoy GC or a game like it. A great majority of society would find gc to be more of something one might do for work or school, but never because they wanted to, it's not typical entertainment, and that's one of the things I enjoy most about it. I think most of the entertainment these days is ridiculously obnoxious and either terribly boring or over-stimulating. Personally, I love the quiet, peace of sitting by my computer, listening to any music I want or just silence many times, hanging out with a bunch of mates and click on all sorts of buttons and find ways to entertain ourselves.
I know many people feel GC is, or has been, at a low point, a bit neglected and things of that sort, which it definitely has been for a while, but despite the lack of attention and all the associated negativity and lowered morale, gc has remained a decent place to enjoy yourself if that's what you're attempting to do. I see a lot of potential with just a few positive empires looking to play the game for what it is and maximize their enjoyment, instead of looking for things the game may be lacking or focusing on anything and everything that they don't like about it and\or its current state. I very much hope that this community can continue to seek enjoyment from gc, focus on what we can do in the game and how we can do it, and of course participate in many more uw attempts, wars and things of that nature. |
