Why make it hard on new players. Let spoil them roten get them hooked on the space crack then make them fend for themselves
I suggest every new account for the month of may get
1) all ship research
2) 1 billion in start out capital
3) 10k of each mineral
4) +20 levels of research (off the bat)
than 1 day in May we let everyone on GC sample whats its like to be a paid player... |

99+ day(s) ago | That`s a bad idea. Why give newbies things that older players have worked for?It wouldn`t be right. I mean, come on. The people who made the game didn`t make it hard on newbies. They made it so nobody has an advantage. Except everybody has an advantage over A. Miners, they don`t really work well. I mean, honestly. It wouldn`t be right. So, who agrees with me? And really, if they have all ship research, then, they would get a higher power quicker, not be ready for veterans, and be wiped clean off the face of GC, so really, this would make it harder for newbies. :( |

This game has alot of good going for it. I mean just look , it finaly got an update after 2 years of waitiing.
If GC can get enough players to stay in the game, and return to prominence , stephen might actually start showing interest in it again.
We need to attract newbs, but we need to help them stay. When i tell friends about this game im usually stuck saying "UC is pretty easy and the players are nice, but dont play GC beacsue most of the vets on there are extremely hositle to newb. Dont ask and questions, or you will harassed for days on end."
We need to be friendly to newbs and im not reffering to Rare, who will always be tough on newbs. But the rest of us can make a difference. Ive encouraged most of my UC players to stay away from GC becasue of the players.

99+ day(s) ago | meh, allow me to suggest that the lack of new players, and the lack of vets on GC has nothing to do with marketing.
As features were taken away and Stephen`s focus switched to UC the number of players dropped.
No fed elections, lack of viral fix forever, arti`s nerfed, chat screwed up, etc etc.
each nerf prompted older players to leave.
And what game gets new players with LESS features then it had before no one bothered playing??
If you want a wake up.. check out the # of feds in GC space.. pathetic.
I used to have to scroll down 3 pages to see all the RT fed`s with over 5 members.
2 pages for Ultra.
Delayed updates, broken promises, nerfed or disabled features, plus the UC centric focus.
Gimmicks aren`t going to save this game. |

99+ day(s) ago | THis is a great idea. One huge problem with GC is the players though, who for the most part are all jerks. I play UC more than GC cause the players on here are all arogant and completely hiostile to UC players and/or newbs.
How do you expect to recruit UC players , when the uslau a UC player on GC gets is "Go back to UC" or "you suck becasue you play UC"
If you want to get UC players to play GC, maybe being nice to them would help. ?
GC is a good game, but the lack of players is irritating, considering its very hard to find players unless your under 100k pr. The lack of players makes the game boring. Well this cycle is repeating itself, and unless you wnat to do something to stop it, you better attract some newbs, and keep them in the game |

99+ day(s) ago | This is in my opinion a good idea, we suggested something similar a while back but this is slightly different, i think the numbers are slightly out and that research maybe shouldn`t be done for em but giving for say a weekend bonuses to new starters and combining it with a little advertising on UC would help.
The banner that went up on UC but was repeatedly taken down by stephen citing that he didn`t want banners to be used as advertising except during events etc. the banner was tracked and there were over 1000 clicks and a few hundred new signups from the banner.
I wish i could see how many stayed but one thing that needs to be sorted as well is GCs attitude towards new UC players all to often enquiries just fall on death ears or cries of "go back to UC newb" |
