I want to be clear this thread is not intended as a flame or a knock against the admins or anyone else. IT is however meant to state a few facts you might not know about the Forum
Did anyone here realize that we have a "Thread Police" , Not only will your thread be removed for vulgar language or flaming ( which is to be expected ) but your thread will be removed if it is deemed to be in the wrong place example : I had a thread up wanting players to come to my fed, it was removed because it wasnt in the FEDERATION section of the thread .
So i checked out the Federation section on the forum and its a waste,land most threads there have no responses so I`m wondering , Does anyone actually read these other sections ? I don`t . I didnt realize they existed , I mean sure I saw the headings but having never clicked on them didnt realize exactly what they were there for . Not only that who is to say what a particular thread should be placed under . This forum is already "NoN User Friendly" as it is and now its been rendered even more so , I have had other threads removed, I never knew why or what happpened but i guess they were in the wrong place. The only way i found out about this was ,I had posted basically the same thread a couple times because i couldnt find my old thread , i was then made aware that i had placed it in the wrong place and that it had been removed. Sure i dont hafta use the Forum or even play the game just seems to me that if u are trying to attract and keep players , making the game more User Friendly would be the way to go .
So if u have had a thread disappear now you why . |

99+ day(s) ago | it`s actually good that there where forummodders because that means we do our job properly,
obviously threads/answers with a lot of flaming/cursing in it will get removed etc. but also quite alot of federationrelated things are posted here,
there are 2 reasons they shouldn`t be here;
1) obviously becahse there is a federation or wanted section
2) those threads usually are needed near top for a longer period of time and that simply doesn`t work in the general section, hence those threads are closed and the creator is asked to post it where it belongs,
and before you start complaining, yes it does work and yes people do read there
unfortunately we can`t say how the forum (among other things) should be designed like, it`s jut the way stephen made it and we just have to live with that and make the best out of it.
I would prefer a more userfriendly something too, especially something wit hthe ability for us to move threads rather then only closing them. |

I understand there view since there is a federation section to post, but its also true 90% of the players that look at the forum very rarely check that out so don`t see why its such a huge problem. Then you have to factor in how quiet the general forum has become itself, you would think they would want the extra gc discussion. |

my thread was about wanting certain type of players to join my fed for the purpose of battling and i was directed to put it in the Federation Section ( my thread heading started with the word WANTED , i have just read the description for the Wanted section
Forum > Wanted
Wanted section. Put a price on someone`s head, post ads for federation or lord and just about anything wanted that is some what related to the game.
This seems to fit my thread far better , so .... to me it is just more confusion as to what goes where . |

99+ day(s) ago | yes I have been around along time this forum however hasnt been my favorite thing and i dont use it like i use to use the old forum same thing goes with Chat I rarely use it anymore as the changes to it made less fun and more of a hassle for ME to use.
I tend to be long winded so when they capped the amount you could post at one time I effectively stopped using chat on a regular basis same goes for the Forum , the old forum was superior and i used it alot , this forum while I use it i havent really thought much on how its set up and i have always seen lots of fed threads on the main forum board ( which is general section ) so i never gave it much thought , I understand the different sections and the need for order but having the last tthreads that were read and or commented on has always been the best way to keep the revelant thread ontop
Like i said its your guys forum and if i dont like it i don`t hafta use it no one is holding a gun to my head .
Maybe in the future if threads could be put in the right place instead of removed I`m sure that there are lots of people out there that arent aware of this removing threads cause they arent in the right place practise .
I know who closed my threads and why i spoke with Quaint today it is basically the reasons that you suggested. Which is not unreasonable at all it is just in my opinion unnecessary and for the player who isnt aware of this practice frustrating |

99+ day(s) ago | players who are looking for feds are always pointed there , same with feds looking for players , the fact you havent noticed just means you havent asked / been directed there , not that you would need to be , your more than experienced enough to know what your doing , also , players rarely reply to them , they just apply and maybe pm the leader ( same with the wanted section )
however its the 1st time ive heard a post simply being removed for being in the wrong area , although there has been alot of fed posts being sneaked into the general conversation area lately and perhaps a moderator has decided to clean them up and direct you all to the federation area , you can see who closed your post`s by looking and maybe ask them why.
as for forum police , the helpcenter is moderated just the same as the chat |
