2006-06-03 |  | Why can`t a lot of vets stack |  |
When im on gcrt, i attack quite a lot of players and a lot of them are vets, while some of the vets stack, a lot only spam and lose and then with their counter go to 5 or 10 times my power and use another spam againest me. I always wondered why a lot of vets have losing records or 1 to 1 ratios and now i know a lot of them do the same tatic which i just wrote about, I mean some times i have harder times fighting n00bs then vets that have been playin sense 04 and even 03, So can someone tell me a reason why so many vets have records with so little wins compared to their losses, or just barely more wins then losses other then they stoped stacking. |

99+ day(s) ago | any one who belives stats matter will nvr grow out beaing a newbie, cuse any one who cares could get a 100 to 1 win ratio but most dont care, what makes a perons a vet in this game is not how long theve played its ahve u doen a seccsefuly uw before viral was added, do u know ship types in and out can u at least stack if need be at some point, have u controeld over 1k plantes at one time, things like that matter not stats or how much money u got or how high u can climb in pr or how long u stare at the market |

99+ day(s) ago | Well, not all fights is about winning. Some guys things that everyone cares about battlestats. I often attack when I know I will loose - if I think the loss can give me advantages later. It can be to just lower another empires power or maybe also giving DP (to avoid my enemies to get easy borders). I am a vet - and I know what a good stack are - but I am very seldom using time/turns to build one :)
So my answer is that lots of vets know how to stack, but this game isnt only about battlestats. |

99+ day(s) ago | The lower the power range the more i stack the higher it gets the more i spam the big Terran 3 , quite simpley because it works and i win more battles that way , besides nothing worse than carefully building a stack and half way thru some spammer comes along and decimates the whole thing , at low power its easier to build properly and quickly .
My theory is whatever works use it , this is a war game and if u figure out how to beat your opponent either thru stacking or spamming then u should use what works . |

99+ day(s) ago | Spaming is Superior to stacking. Stacking is as more guessing game than spaming is. Vets that spam well know what ships beat what and what style to attack. I see alot of morons spamming and they only use one ship cause someone told them it was good but they dont know what beats what. Spaming is also an easy win, why spend 3 hours building destroyers when you know youcan win with big ships? Or why use the high Scanner rating ships when you can just win with the best ship in the game? Or why complain about "dumb spammers"? If they suck so bad why do you care? and SF is right now is pretty much everyone thats been playing fro a year or more. not many newbs. Most vets with losing record are HIGH BASE GUARDIANS...that dont care about thier record. Others Fight UW`s. Others just attack to lose to give others their stack. |

also about the vet thing, these days people call themselfs or others vets if they have played spacefed for a long time (means many vets :S).
true vets can stack and don`t care anymore who their opponent is, cause they know they can fight them for real, not by spamm, not by a huge counter, but in a fair fight wipe the mother.... |

99+ day(s) ago | battle records dont mean much. half of the time when i come out of dp im offline and with no fleet, so its easy to get just a 1 to 1 or less battle record :)
I also noticed that a lot of vets spam. i think its a shame that so many skilled people dont put any effort in there fighting anymore. it makes doing battles less fun this way :(
and lothor your so right about the minerals! getting them is now the biggest challenge on RT. im waiting for an hour now to get a few 100k strafez and i still dont have it :P |

99+ day(s) ago | Well Spartan, im sorry to have to agree with Bip, Look at my acct on GCRT, Even though Im aspha, I have the worst ships really in the race, could use a few *minor adjustments*
Problem is sometimes right when i build out and get 3 planets im hit, within 3 seconds of exiting DP, now recently that has changed, but that had happend for a while.
But if you look at slower pace servers, some do spam, but alot also stack since there is more time to stack and think of the attacks. To me 20 turns isnt enough even to make a balanced stack, for me, on GCRT, it takes around 1000 or so. But i can do less if i must, but too many on GCRT in my prs so that is why it takes 1000, instead of 225 or 150 :P |

99+ day(s) ago | SpartanEli ... many vets just choose not to ... why bother? It takes so much longer ... By the time you`ve built 10 pretty stacks of destroyers, someone`s already pyth spammed you :S
the old UC needed some stacking since there were only 6 stacks ... shame it went :S
try out normal server if you want to see some stacking ... gc/fast is alright, but not great, gc/ultra is almost rt-spam-like. |
