ok as viral as im going to go and get the angel eventually im wondering if its even worth getting the tyr as angel and tyr are almost exact copies of eachother in all respects bar shields adna little hill i belive along with the PR difference
now is it worth not bothing with they tyr and getting the nirv instead? so it would be thor/herc/nirv instead of thor/herc/tyr?

99+ day(s) ago | lol personaly i would take thor over nirv anyday... also tyr is better then nirv... dont forget the other races dont have as good missle damage as terran so get the missle from terran and energie/kenetic from maru and miner same goes for shield mods always found my tyrs way more usefull then nirvs... seeing from collective point so not as viral |

It depends on what powerlevels you usually fights - how you play (agressive or defensive) - what races you play against etc. I love nirvs when fighting against viral starbases at high power - and we all know the qualities of the Tyrs. |

Seven yeah that`s understandable, we all have certain ships we`ve grown attached to over the years for sentimental reasons... that and you could win with any ship, nirv, tyr, fodder, whatever, you`re just that good =P you just happen to pick the nirv, guess you like the name or maybe the band or something =) |

99+ day(s) ago | a long time ago when i was a terran i kicked many viral behinds using the nirvana, i think its a verry good ship if you know where to put them in your stacks :) ...but also just a nirv spam can give you lots of wins! as a viral i would go for the nirv too instead of the tyr.
but maybe im just being foolish :P |

but yeah also get ang, it is cheaper and builds faster... like demand said don`t compare tyr to nirv or tyr to ang...
just get pyth, ang, tyr and herc and you`re set... the other ships i would say have more to do with fighting style and taste, but if you want to go high pr those four ships are beyond valuable. |

99+ day(s) ago | Take both if you havent RE anything else, Tyr is WAY more reilaible than the D.Angel. Angel has 23k pr and 15k hull 22k damage, Tyr has 13k pr, 12k hull, 10k damage. Thats almost 2 tyrs per Angel which is definaitly better. Angel is cheaper though, But its all or nothing since angel has low hull you can careful spam it and win. Nirvana can lose to both the Tyr and Angel. But you cant Comapare the D. angel to the tyr, the tyr is superior but you have to pay a price for it. Take the Nirvana and the Tyr no point in take thor or anything else...you can use fodders to stop borrelys for cheaper. |

My prev viral empire had herc tyr thor. And tyrs are good against guard obviously. I restarted that empire in part to get nirv.
+ point: you will almost never have to worry about being short of borders with nirv. Nirv spam is simply THE best way to get a few quick 1/2 border wins.
- point: yes guards become hard. But with some skill, they`re still beatable. You just have to be able to guess where the hunlis are ... which is not too hard if you get to watch them building ...
So if you`re confident you will never really be short of borders/you`re happy to use pyth, get tyr. Tyrs and angels are very very very different. Tyr`s face up to strafez well, and its not do-or-die vs rubies like angels are (you can have <1.0x tyrs to beat rubies). Tyrs are far far far superior vs K-class than angels also.
~ point: pyth becomes almost useless until you`re building really high with cheap ships (pyths still pretty much useless if you don`t have an angel spam above ... You can lose a 100mil pyth spam pretty quickly if they catch you building it)
You could prob get away with either going for tiger/barracuda instead of pyth if you take nirv. |

99+ day(s) ago | for me as a Terran, i dont like Tyr much, it only good while against Guardian K Hun Li spam. u might win Ruby n Taur if they are out of number. Nirvana is just good in all arround time.
since u r a VIral, i bet u already have the D.Angel in ur RE list. compare with Angel, Tyr has same range with Angel, similiar pr. BUT alot less fire power, alot more upkeep.. |
