  Suggestion: times of day when:  

Suggestion: times of day when:

You are more likely to find large barrens (or any other type of planet)
Planets are 5-10% larger than otherwise would be (or bigger chance of finding an S. class planet)
U. Planets are more likely to be found.
Less turns to find planet (except during galactic crisis)
More likely to get an X class!!! lol.

I`d like this.... it`d add some fun to the exploration.

well, the problem with that...is what about the new just starting guards? if they go exploring, and those rogue ships find them on the first planet explored...and they loose their homeworld...which is bound to happen...i think they`d be slightly ticked off.

fleak2: That`s a good idea... mainly finding special or unique artifacts, finding ships or loosing ships (39 viator II lost exploring asteroid field!).

Adding my own idea:
Rogue ships attack! You loose (number) Scouts!
Then there`s a chance the rogue ships pursue you all the way to your system and attack you there, with a chance of maximum one planet lost if they win.

This might be best for just RT though, since I assume many other servers don`t want to waste precious turns finding and loosing things when exploring.

Planet type idea:
U. Rogue... stays around for a bit then leaves.... =P

hmm you know what i was thinking?

maybe we can let people find artifacts when exploring

of course these artifacts would either be special or unique or else it may not be worth the turns

even finding ships would be a good thing.

how about getting ur ships destroyed =P

oh yeah and the last idea : find someone`s (terran or a.miner) home planet and grab it. but only if you can destroy the defending fleet =P

frm my experience... can`t pinpoint the right period to find good planets... but to make the chances higher... try to explore with 1 turn as fast as possible... for example... 3200 V2s will make you explore planets in 1 turn until around 32 planets... then it will go up to higher turns... higher turns won`t give better chances... you will hate it to get just a gas with more than 20 turns per exploration... :P

how about randomized every week or so? That way you would have time to figure out the right time to dig and have a chance to get some goodies before the dig times change... otherwise it would be kind of unreasonable.

About the fixed time thing, perhaps the artifact times should be randomized so nobody knows when they will occur? just a thought.

We could combine time of day and numbers.... say 6:00AM -6:30AM server 3000-3999 numbered planets have double chance of being U. or S. class.

hmm i dunno but i still think snatching for the numbers is more fun =P

well it can be relative to the amount of turns you used

like ur first planet 0000

then after using 7891 turns ur next turn u get ur planet you get E.7892

then another few thousand turns, it is 5834. nobody would see the difference and people would not be complaining about no big planets

er how about fix the planets we can get through individual serial numbers

in which we wont be fighting for the 0000 and the 9000 and the 3300 for barrens

More X class? A horrificly bad idea.

It`s already nearly impossible for a large empire to make its own clusters - why take the fun out of the game like that?

Instead, remove X class entirely.

em, due to the fixed server time, many people on certain Longitudes are already effectively excluded from the digging time. So i would vote against introducing other fixed times.

On the other hand, bringing in some fluctuations in the exploration buisness would be fun. Why not acor the fluctuations in the planet number, i.e. the 6000er are bigger, the 3000er contain more U`s ect. This would have the interesting side effect, that a) the ammount of planets gets limited, and b) that all players within a server must compete against each other....

more x class i think is acceptable...

lesser turns is also a good idea

but finding bigger planets leave it for paid

maybe make it like the sin rising and the sun setting then things are easier to find

maybe bind it with the artifacts timing so people can choose one of them.

barrens may not be the biggest planet type in the first place so increasing the rate may be useless.
