BadSicilian 2007-03-14 |  | guard update idea... |  | well, everyone is complaining about the guardian income, and their spammy spammyness...so i`ve come up with a solution.
lets leave the guard tax modifier alone, but increase the worth of the CG to the guardian population...make CG`s produce more credits per pop, this would probably increase the ammount needed, which would be fine, since CG miners would be popping up everywhere to kep up with this new demand of CG`s...so it serves two purposes. gives CG`s to the server, and increases the guardian income, hopefully helping a few of them stack and stop complaining...
ideas ans suggestions are appreciated.
P.S. i say to leave the taxe modifier alone because if guard got a positive tax modifier, we`d have to start consuming food...which gets out of hand with what the race is supposed to be, guards are supposed to collect CG`s, so it only makes sense that they should consume them faster and get more out of them then all but terrans right? :\ just a brain storm while i`m sitting in my math class with a fried brain... :D |

Minerl mining makes so much cash, so i really miss the income... also i miss not having to buy my own minerals.... it can be very expensive whe you have a income of about 740 in tax a turn..... which is pretty bad.... the thing that saves me is food, which i make about 800 of |

species382 99+ day(s) ago | well, guards can explore their a.ss of due to the cheap scouts, so i would recommend to explore yourself some decent planets with 50 loyality, then an income \approx base pr shouldnt be a problem |

For all you want to help, BS, why can`t we nerf the tourm and rub? Obviously, if we nerf them and leave everything else the same, you can`t. So fix everything else. If you`re changing the tourm and rub, make the race better.

Note: I don`t claim that these suggested changes are fully balanced. I don`t have that kind of time. But I addressed far more issues than the admins did with their update... and I`m open to suggestions. *shrugs* |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | i would consider giving guards the ability to reward to a decreased lvl (1250 or 2500) once guards have got to a certain mission. The reason for this is that the problem with guard tax income is that if you do the missions with your planets but then lose those colonies for whatever reason your income will just become tiny in proportion.
A planet with less than 50 loyalty just needs to be binned pretty much as you are not going to make tax income from it to support your base pr. Thats why think letting guard reward to a certain lvl(low) after they have finished their guard missions that give loyalty so that they cant reward themselves before using the missions.
If there were more tax miners around and the actual possibility of winning a cluster of them(very low because the tax miners that are around normally favour 1 or 2 c2s and u.larges meaning easy explore for borders) then it would actually be possible to revuild a guard empire after losing the main planets.
Because i lost my colonies my income is actually lower than my base pr by over 100k (without goods) being able to reward just a little would actually make it worth while |

wingding 99+ day(s) ago | turns on slower servers are very important, not just in terms of building ships, but also raising cash to build ships with. It costs about $700K - $1 mill credits per turn to build guard ships, and there arn`t many guards on turn based servers making that kind of cash. A guard on RT can play semi proper, by spending all day raising money, but it is a totally different situation when turns are limited. |

It`s because unless your building for something very specific, like a herc spam, or bor spam, your ships will be wiped out by any ships that flank. The more agressive the ships I start using, the more I start stacking, and the more defensive my ships are, the more I spam. Guards will always spam if there ships are low range and high hull. Another reason for guards to spam. |

BadSicilian 99+ day(s) ago | well, the problem with nerfing ruby and tourm is the fact thet they are the only decent ships with decent shield mods other then the k class..and only one of the k clas is useful in the leaset. ruby and tourm are powerful, but not over powered...there are man ships that can take them out...but when the guard hits, its very hard to beat their ofense, because thatsw what they are built for. certain races are built for certain things. get used to it. |
armenia4ever 99+ day(s) ago | lol collective ships are decent.. but its hard to find targets, and im afraid if i lose on battle , and let snot forget ive never been collective before, ill lose my home planet, and wil have to restart... im basically depending on agri right now. Im soo poor that ill resrach a bunch, sell abouty 500k worth of food and be able to buy about 200ruitle and compoiste of the market for my schooner... i gues this is earning money the dhard way.. but i love it... |

wingding 99+ day(s) ago | nerfing ruby/torm would make people stack, they are just so much better than the other ships. But, it would also make my guard account on slow unplayable. With my base pr ranking me at around 10th, the only way for me to win any boarders is to spam from 500K to 1 mill pr (putting me in the top 5) and attack from 2X. If my base pr was reduced, and ruby/torm were not fantastic ships, I would stack. |
species382 99+ day(s) ago | Well, for terrans & virals, guards are reasonably easy to destroy as long as the guards dont consider it necessary to build some fodder stacks as surprise...miners dont have the ships, collective have neither ships nor the build rate to attack guards... |
BadSicilian 99+ day(s) ago | meh, i was just sick of hearing ppl complain about the ships...if you know what the heck to build guard is very easy to destroy. a good anti guard stack is just that, anti guard, guards can`t do much against it unless forewarned of what to expect. so i figured i`d introduce my idea, see what ppl thought of it...didn`t realize it woudl cause such a rucus :\ |
