Dangel87 2007-03-13 | | Taxes... how you calculate it? | | someone knows how taxes rates are calculated?? |
|
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | *cough* If you need to ask that question, then the answer is not for you to know. |
DarkLandsASC 99+ day(s) ago | I can use a computer, type papers, and install games and play said games what more do I really need to do? |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | So you don`t even know how to use excel? That is a bit on the sad side... as for why, usually people who play online games know at least SOMETHING about programming, even if it IS only excel. |
DarkLandsASC 99+ day(s) ago | no dei i`m not why would anyone who wants to study law be a computer hack? |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | I just like making fun of you, DarkLands. It`s quite the enjoyable experience... you always leave yourself so wide open for counterattacks its entertaining.
I suppose you`re not a programmer in any way, shape, or form. An asterick is the standard ASCII representation of a dot for multiplication. x^y is how you represent the variable x raised to the y power.
And wingding: I suppose I`m too nice sometimes. ;) |
DarkLandsASC 99+ day(s) ago | well usually when I see small symbols above and to the right of a large number it is an exponent so i assumed the symbol represented one, next no dei where I live we use crazy things like a dot inbetween the numbers or an x so I is vewy sowy my smoll bwain cain`t comprehand yer compli`cated formuler. (DL just likes to note he scores in the top 5 percent of American high school students which doesn`t seem like much because everyone thinks oh its America but we let everyone test not just smart people so too bad for us) |
Travvivian 99+ day(s) ago | Well Wingding, newbs shouldnt be even thinking of Tax. XD |
wingding 99+ day(s) ago | *note for everyone else: if you don`t know the answer to something, and you just blurt out something moronic, expect to get called a moron by whoever actually knows the answer. Publicly posting missleading information to newbs is actually against the rules. |
wingding 99+ day(s) ago | it is divided by 2 because taxes already make a ton of $$$. If tax income were double, it would imbalance the game. *notes that Deil shouldn`t give out information to morons, especially if you have to force feed it to them. |
megasword1 99+ day(s) ago | i understand everything in the equation but why do we have to divide by 2?
is it the set constant for base tax income? |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | That is a direct port from excel... and there are no exponents in there... surely you know that the asterick means multiplication?!? Every single variable is explained. But if you REALLY need to know exactly what is going on, because you`re a bit slow (some people are, I know you are... there`s nothing wrong with it)
=((I*(H+10))/2)*((L/2500)+1)*(1+M)
Where:
I = Housing Infrastructure
H = Housing Infrastructure Research Level
L = Loyalty
M = Racial Modifier
((I*(H+10)) = Your population
((I*(H+10))/2) = Base tax income earned per population
((L/2500)+1) = Your loyalty modifier. Zero loyalty is a modifier of one (obviously) and any additional loyalty adds to that
(1+M) = Your racial modifier. No modifier is a modifier of one (again, obviously) and any additional modifier is in ADDITION to this base modifier of one.
I don`t expect you all to be able to figure it out, or perhaps even fully understand what the formula meant... but really, Dark, you didn`t have to prove that you know nothing by trying to make fun of the formula... ^^; |
DarkLandsASC 99+ day(s) ago | sorry for a few errors i made by duplicating parts of the question i couldn`t quite get the whole thing right at once it is so lengthy. As I said before please verify how that is supposed to work out and how you got there in the first place. (oh and if you are going to try and use some other lengthy theorems or formulas to explain this don`t bother) |
DarkLandsASC 99+ day(s) ago | so deiloche after removing all of those parenthases we may not even need at some points you take your housing infrastructure add 10 to it, then multiply it by your housing infrastructure which in turn has been multiplied by an exponent we do not know, then divide all of that by 2 and multiply that sum by another exponent what appears to be another exponent we do not know. Next we take our loyalty divide it by 2500 add 1 and multiply that by yet another exponent we do not know multiply it by our racial modifier(which has had 1 added to it) and we multiply that by the sum we got from our first problem? Seems like a long ineffective problem that won`t work out or will come out as a foolish answer unless you make some sense of the many symbols there and anything I may have assumed to be something it was not. |
BadSicilian 99+ day(s) ago | meh, i dunno how anythig in this game is calculated, or how to even figure it out...and now i see why ppl never ask questions around here. they get ppl insulting their intelligence for asking.
no question is a dumb question, you never learn if you don`t ask a question. |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | And Bren? While I did figure that out myself... I felt like a fool for figuring it out, because when I did, the person I showed it to already knew it... lol. All I did was created a table of my income versus my population at a set loyalty, then a table of my income at a set population versus loyalty... *shrugs* No cool math, unfortunately, but excel is a very useful tool... |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | Lol... it doesn`t really take a lot to figure that one out... and I was teasing you when I called you lame. :P I WASN`T teasing when I called you a moron. :P |
BadSicilian 99+ day(s) ago | besides, i play this game for fun, not to be some sort of mathematical genious or anything liek you obviosly think you are, and yes, that was some impressive ammounts of know-it-alledness you showed there, thanks for the answer either way, just loose the xing chump attitude, your a smart guy, and your a good player, but you`ve got the vet syndrome going on, the game would be better withour all the hating and dung. |
BadSicilian 99+ day(s) ago | deiloche, dude, seriosly, get a life. i asked a xing question, how the hell am i wrong for trying to figure something out?? :\ i`ve only managed to build a fairly stable guardian empire, i`ve never called myself a vet, a pro, or anything else like that, i`m not the know-it-all like you are. so if any one is lame it is you. |
Bren 99+ day(s) ago | *BREN notes that was some cool working out from DEILOCHE* |
Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | *sigh* BadSicilian, you are 73h lame...
