Andriatia 2007-03-02 |  | Collective Nerf? |  | Build rates of the Pinnace, Brig, Sloop and MoW cut down over 50% in some cases? I might have missed the heads up on that one, but that`s staggering considering that we just got this update.
Not that I can really complain too much about this; the Sloop and Pinnace build rates are still better than they were before the update by leaps and bounds.
Just a bit of a disappointment to see a drop like that after such a substantial boost that I`m sure bolstered the Collective community for months to come.
Not like I`m going to stop playing altogether just because of this, that goes without saying. If I didn`t have patience over this sort of thing, I wouldn`t be here today. :)
Is this a permanent change, or are we still in the "testing" phase of everything? I`d just want a little iddy bit of insight as to what`s going on behind the scenes and screens.

G class are not M class
they make there own version adding there own tech with that of a Gaurdian ship given too them by the race , so they Contain Guardian tech and hence cant be captured
this was a good fair and balanced idea for the greater good , it gave A miner 2 ships that could be greatly improved to good standards to make A miner a balanced defencive race, while not giving virals an extra godlike ship or two to use |

In the story it says the MINERS created there own version of the G class ship which would make it what??? come on now u can say it.. ok i will for u.. IT MAKES IT MINER hence being capturable. another pont of mines is that GUARDIANS CANT even BUILD them ships in the first place why are the under there class.. .. u say it was done to to improve miners and in the same time keeping collective and viral same.. come on now your nerfing 2 races to improve 1 not to mention your takeing away those 2 races "forte" in this game being able to capture and in virals case reversing ships. To me it seems all them empires from long ago who wanted to see thses 2 races downgraded got some power and now plans are in motion |

even with these the fastest building collective ship is bout 30k a turn ffs i would only accept this nerf if u nerf down other races eg put down herc to 50k or niv to 36k
stop nerfing collective if anything they still need improvement in terms of needing more ships with no retail |

Andriatia 99+ day(s) ago | A capital ship would be really nice to have. Though I enjoy brigantines having chemical damage very much. Snow is a decent ship to throw into the mix when there aren`t any captured ships to fill its spot, and MoW is okay if you want to lose 2 colonies instead of 3, or can`t think of anything better to stack defensively. I am missing the smaller ship build rate already, though. |

having these small powerfull ships with even 24k pr build rate makes them a spammers dream , atleast if you wish to spam one of these great and yes they are great ships you will have to sacrifice turns.
yes they have been tweaked a little , but they are still an improvement upon what they were
R snow and Schooner can now capture ( but not as affectively as the H class )
this all promotes stacking rather than spamming , and yes collectives can make great stacks. |

Andriatia 99+ day(s) ago | I agree with jackme; 24k build rates are pretty ugly, but with the update, it was at least tolerable. Something could be done with 24k. Though now 4 of the Collective ships have less than that, since Sloop and Pinnace are so popular. Not really saying that I highly value these ships over the others, I`m just saying that If you played Collective pre-update, you were always using the only ships you had available (unless you spammed Sloop/Galleon, which I think can be more of a menace than Sloop/Pinnace in ranged situations, especially now when it`s got all that and a bag of chips.)
I personally do use all of the Collective ships available, unless I don`t need another stack for defense or if I already have something that would outperform something like Snow or Pinnace, such as a few Nirvanas. I`ve always used Schooners, and Snow is another decent addition to the fleet.
If people have really been complaining to the edge of infinity over Collectives being "overpowered," then I`d gladly direct them to the nearest time machine so they can play Collective pre-update for a year and see what they have to say about the race. If they can play that long without going insane and changing race, that is.
This is just something that`s been needed for longer than I`ve been here, and I`m really glad that it`s finally come through. I know that changes have to be made for balance, and it`s not like I can just protest a minor thing like a nerfed build rate, despite how painful that can ultimately be in the long run. I appreciate the work that`s been put forth, though I guess you can`t really make everyone happy. :S
I guess in summation, I have to say that I disapprove of the nerf in that it neuters the will for some variation and promotes the "oh-so-dreaded Galleon spam," A.K.A. anti-newbie.
The added % for capture is nice, but I don`t think it will promote the usage of those ships, to be honest. The best Collective knows how to use each ship and will stack them as seen fit. |

Andriatia 99+ day(s) ago | I did notice the 30% capture chance that has been added just moments after, and that is a nice addition. I just wish that option would be applied to Sloops and Pinnace, but I suppose that`s asking too much.
