I`ve been having a good strategy, consisting of exploring/clustering/mining/plundering/repeating that makes me good money as a terran, and often have to stop because I find a large barren (in this case, it`s a decent 949 land) that I can keep for a permanent cluster.
My question is, do you think I could simply instead use gordo`s on my C1 at the top of my list and go ahead and plunder my 949 land barren guilt free, or should I keep the 949 land and collect more barrens for clustering? |

99+ day(s) ago | ive plundered my fair share of 1.,6k S class deserts and barrens. also 10-12k u larges and 2-2.4k ferts
now i find making a cluster out of high land planets is better in the long run. the risks are far outweighted by the gain in hte long run like i just stated
wats an extra 10k ore when u can use 30 turns researching and make well over 100 mill whilst getting ur infra levels up at the same time?
if ur only doing a short term empire (under 2 weeks) then sure plunder the barren and keep cluster/strip/plunder
otherwise my advice is keep it and make a sexy cluster.
just dont go inactive or u may loose it to a maruader like myself :P |

just to note, i had plunder TON of big Barren n U.Large for passed 2 years. i should feel more guilty than u LOL |

99+ day(s) ago | It is so much easier to mine planets when they are clustered, and I save time and turns by plundering one colony versus 5 planets. I get to choose which mineral I want my colony to produce, which is very convienient also.
Unfortunately, you can`t decide which colonies you want to cluster together just yet, it`s limited to the bottom 5 clusterable colonies. :( |

99+ day(s) ago | well, it all depends on the risk you`re willing to take. taking more planets maens you hope like hell you don`t get an X which are unplunderable, whereas gordo`s are betterused on a cluster once you have your blocking three planets set up to protect you against raiders stealing your decent clusters.
really up to you, the reward is greater if you search for more barrens, but the risks are higher as well (bigger power lvl, more aggressive players can hit you, etc etc. |

99+ day(s) ago | starquest mining is an ideal process at the beginning of your game as it makes you fast money
However your aim as terran whether Agri/Comm shld be to first attain at least a 20k land c-2 ( RT standards)
So you want to keep that barren , explore for more, mining on they way
Then make your c-2, from at least 800 land barrens ( 900 for paid i think)
Once this is done you will have a solid base income to play your game |
