  D class For Marauder  

okay, I`ll take over here, with new other idea`s
main motivation is that they needed to be better d.class ships, and a little bit anti collective (main enemy so :P)
everything is based and motivated on current ships, not to make too good ships, note all the weapon/pr and hull/pr ratio`s, took as much in consideration before hand as possible. but they still stay uninteresting for virals which is good.

fyi: sting was the first ship added to the Maru as a reason to defeat the A Miner base back then (Thanks Treg!). This was before tiger and D class ships. With the introduction of the Tiger, sting takes a backseat as either high range filler or precision stack killer.

A higher build rate would be nice on both. Like a 5 on the cruiser and a 6 on the frigate. The upkeep on both is a little harsh, but well in means for someone who will be building so high that it might become an issue (such as a marau playing blocker on a UW attempt)

Why does the D.Bullhead looks like a range 8 Flysh with nbetter shields? ;-)

0.83 hull:pr ain`t exactly much with a range of 7 ching :S, although the attack on that hammerhead is good

and with 0.55 attack:pr (lol) for bullhead ... 1.10 ain`t a huge attack:pr -- not even moderate.
-- even the epidote has .53 and 1.60 lol

I still think that both ships have too much hull for the `agressive` race Marauders are....

either reduced Hull or decrease some shield mods....

Hammerhead is a very strong ship

why teh HELL does a dclass have energy dmg!??! as mush as idlike a pure energy maru ship i dont think it should be a dclass

i say instead of the sting being another missle boat just make it pure energy gotthe range to beat sloop and the dmg

I agree with the greater range suggestions. Marauders rely purely on claiming planets from other empires so they need a range boost for their ships to be really effective. As it is now, they are easily pawnable !

I agree with deiloche and aba, less hull, +1 range. Marauders are aggressive, right? So make them attack on aggressive :)

Exactly.And the sloop is still a much stronger ship that the proposed hammerhead anyway, where collective are a MUCH more defensive race that marauders. I`d almost like to see a slightly higher damage ratio and a slightly lower hull ratio, just to make things interesting.

the maru is an OFFENSIVE race and shouls have ships to show they are offensive

collective are an offencive race and also have aggressive ships.

i dont see the problem with it having so much damage and such. if this was for a.miner or terran then yes i would be inclined to agree as they are not offencive races by nature (they can explore for borders and wont die if they just sit there with 1-3 planets)

just a thought.

i agree with maraudian, maru ships should be very agressive race. hammerheads hulls a little high but otherwise its awesome >=)
