The game needs to change something with the ability to VM trap people into slavery. Most "slave abusers" tend to grab some slaves, head up to a a high power level and go into a long VM. My suggestion is a elimination of slave money paid to people in VM, all together, or at least for people who go into a VM long enough to come out with turns. Or maybe half or a quarter of the money only while in VM. Im sick of being enslaved, having someone who goes up to 1-2mil and then VMs for 1.5 weeks. No chance really to get out without putting 2+ days into building up to 10+ mil to get out. Totally bogus |

so tell me again why a slaver should?
No one has suggested slavers lose thier slaves when entering VM..
Only the loss of income, and the stoppage of reinforcements.
No one is advocating removing a slaver`s slaves when he goes vm.
Stop his income like every other player`s income is halted while they are in vm. |

why should slavers have all there " income " removed when going into vm
when a 600 planet empire can do the same and still return to his 600 planet income ... Regardles of the game speed.
dunno why yall making a big deal with the whole turnbased thing , doesnt make any difference , turnbased is fair to everyone just like RT
slaving is a fairly hard income path , yall just complaining against it because you dont like it.
think of what your saying " lets remove all his income type when he goes into VM , but dont remove all my planets and infra if i ever need to go into it "

Let me clarify my stance on the matter:
I have no problem with slavery as it stands now.
I have a problem with vm.
i do think that VM should exempt an empire from sending reinforcements or recieving tribute.
An empire on vm can`t use the market or artifacts, or do much of anything.
So why do slavery`s benefits persist into vm?
There is no real reason for it, gameplay doesn`t depend on it.
The gamecode doesn`t depend on it.
There are a few more wrinkles to slavery that I don`t like, but meh, it`s a pretty good feature.
The problem is with VM + Slavery.
And as far as Maruadian`s experience.. BAH.
You have become a good admin, and always were a good player on RT, (using non terran or aminer races)
But your bias is showing, and you still have very little idea of how turn servers really work. Its ok, not many do. |

nobody likes to lose or be interupted
hence why these area of the games such as spores in digging , X class , enslaving , battles and so on get complaints
enslaving people then going into vacationmode sacrifices alot for the player going in vm , its his choice and its a bad choice , its a balanced tactic , just like atacking someone and hiding in NP
how many people have asked NP be removed do to this ? no it isnt abuse , its tactical |

99+ day(s) ago | pansy ive had empires before the empires i even have now , ive been enslaved on all gamespeed before you even joined up to the game , pointing out my empires are under dp right now is a very poor merrit , thats like saying my 1 day old collective empire on rt doesnt count in any collective discusion ( ive been the collective race over 60 or so times at the least ) * this is just an example of how lame the merrit is your using * |

The point is that it detracts from the game big time when the peoples only play they do is enslave a bunch of people and then go into VM for 8 days, come back to do the same thing over and over and over and over. I mean hell I should just come into the game, Research my 180 turns, and go VM for another week. BORING. Nothing wrong with trying to make a more interesting game. I don`t whine. And I dont try to give the impression that my opinion is all that matters either. Its a good point and a good topic to discuss. |

I well add though, that the attacker gets to come from 150% so regardless of your "stacking ability" you are still prolly gonna lose. That`s just logical. |

99+ day(s) ago | 1. you dont know what it means not to get enslaved ? it means learn to stack fight and defend yourself. to get enslaved you need to lose by 60% unlike a normal 10% for a normal atack
2. yes break free , money , minerals and turns are earned by the player in question , regardless to the gamespeed. its possible for anyone to break free of being enslaved anyone who says its not has zero experience with the enslavement feature

this is like complaining about X class planets because it got in the way of your cute possible cluster

2) Break free?
Not always possible or monetarily feasible - remember, there is more to life than the RT server.
3)that longer one
maybe no one on the server feels like enslaving... you only have so many turns to waste tempting them to do so
4) Impossible. You would have research lvl zero on your new income source and instead of losing 15% you would lose probably like 75% depending on research lvl. And the master wouldn`t know that you were the slave that was being "oooh ooh all rebellious and such" so you would remain enslaved anyway.
5) It`s not your place to say who`s "whining". This is an open forum for a game that has a lotta screwy things in it. You better expect some constructive criticism. |

all gamespeed ive enslaved and been enslaved , even if they are paid race now , i dont have planets or need them because i use slaves and dont generally have time for turnbased
ive also been playing since 03 and am the gameadmin , i know more about what im talking about here regardless of what my accounts apear like right now
even on RT i hit reinforcements from a guy who is in VM i cant remember his name but grr , yes its annoying , but hey i can deal with that.
the guy is reinforcing his slaves , if the slaver cant deal with it then
1. dont get enslaved ?
2. break free ?
3. fight untill re-enslaved taking full advantage of reinforcements for sexy win streaks and lots of counters.
4. deal with the loss of 15% income or make another income path to spite that master
5. take the lazy path and whine about how its abuse and unfair in hope stephen will spend hours making some crazy code to suit your needs when weve been waiting for an update in how long is it now ? |
