  GC Ship Update next steps  

These are the current suggestions with regards to the next (and hopefully last) ship rebalancing, they`re taken from the PMs and forum posts and suggestions people have made. Please note at the moment i can`t do anything about Viral ship upkeep its still being looked at

Uploaded Changes

H Barkentine , small missile damage added 400 at the least , chop off ionized hull shielding

R snow , stats increased to 500 energy, 600 kinetic and extra 10% shielding added to ionised

H.Brigantine , Chem dmg +50 ( need ) ( to beat herc and k class on agro )

H Man o War , - fixed and uploaded, i`ve yet to hear major complaints now trying to get collectives existing to be able to use them

A hoko -200 scanner rating ECM Shield + 20%

A.Kryo - 2,000 scanner rating -500 energy damage + 1500 kinetic damage +5% energy shield +5% ionized shield

M.Lakko -500 scanner +10% energy shield +10% ionized shield +1k hull


These suggestions most asked seem to agree on
M epidote , No retal

H galleon returned to its normal stats , double its ship build ( to 14 )

G lictor extra 10% absorb shield -50% Chem shield

L Class scanners dropping

Improvement of D. Bullhead

I`ve probably missed somethings but its nearing 1am and i`m knackered

Opinions? Try to keep them constructive

And i`m trying to deal so that all the ships work and are balanced and such but its understandanly a long and daunting task, i`d appreciate your patience and would advise you not to change anything until we`ve settled.

because, the shields on teh g and l class would stil make them dangerous to stack with, not matter their weapon/pr ratio. ruby and tourm are two of the current 3.5 good ships guards have...and there are guards the dont jst spam them around, like me ofr instance, i hardly ever spam them around unless they`re all i have left of a previos stack. so either slightly increase the usefullness of g and l class ships, or leave the guardian race alone. guards are meant to be imba, since we`re supposed to "defend the galaxy" but if we get our only good ships nerfed whats that do to us? makes us a bloated miner. nerfing rubys and tourms is a bad move. the lack of income more then makes up for the ships anyways, since we have to have ahuge base pr to really afford a large fleet w/o stripmining, which is boring. look at the full picture before you ask for guards to get nerfed.

seriously, no points to get a 10 range ship for Miner. what? u need a Miner verions of P class?

for Terran with the longest offensive range of P class units, the downsize are the hull, cost n upkeep. so, u want a longer range + better hull + not bad upkeep + better shield mod + cheaper ship cost of `P.Zeus` for Miner?

Lictor, yes, i had exlpain before on other thread and also liked what Arch said, Lictor is too good for now, u will get some freaking spammers again, so to the Miner new Starbase with range 10 - 12.

anyway, Guardian got minor improvement on G n L class. so why dont u agree a minor nerf on Ruby n Taurmaline? this will just encourage stacking with G n L classbut not those silly Ruby / Taur spam again after the adjust.

paid acc will get range 10 ships? well, it is just not a good idea. y dont we settle those ship balance before get more trouble on new ship design :P

Um BadSic, you should know better than think I consider virals to be a favourite race ... lol
The lictor mods are just going to force miners to lictor spam. As I keep repeating, all ships need at least 1 weakness.

On a less obvious point, The chlorites going up to range 10. I think it would be better if maru`s tiger (attacking race, and paid race) gets the range 10 missile ship (if there is to be one). I agree you could buff the mods of the current chlorite slightly.

DONT nerf the rubys. they aren`t over powered in the least. tourms darn sure aren`t. if you know what your doing, rubys and tourms are easy to get rid of, so instead of complaining about it learn to deal with it. it will make you a better player and make the game alot less annoying.

too good for that build rate? even with the great mods they get owned by everything that owned them before. so why complein? your just mad you can`t RE them anymore. get over it.

Eternus> hmm, i dont mind Viral RE those D class. without D class, Viral still can spam those non-D class Marauder ships.

lmao. i knew u cant do anything on the upkeep formula, prehaps u have to wait Stephen do it. also, can we force those Viral to tax based? it will result less effective on spam too with the higher base pr.

G n L class improvement. hmm, dont forget to nerf abit on Ruby n Taurmaline. well, i think 5% increase to tax income will be good to support the Guardian stacking in future too.

Instead of making the Angles un reversable, I would much prefer to see them have a higher upkeep (I know, I know, not now, whenever you are able). The problem isn`t the Angel itself so much as the fact that with their strong economy, Virals are able to support far too many of them in a stack.

Weeellllll we`d thought the same Archae *please all virals note this is just an idea at this stage* Maraudian suggested maybe making them D. Maru and thus unreversable

The G and L class is being worked on hopefully we``ll just need the PRs (scanners) changed to be a little more in line

D class, well obviously angels fine any sensible ideas for what the smaller ships need make a new thread and keep em together

hmm, just encountered the new MOW -- its been nerfed a lot a lot ... it`s fair now for a SB (could even be a bit stronger!)

Um, how we comin` with D class for marus, or G/L class for Guards

I`m gonna stick my neck out on this one ... maybe D angel shouldn`t be re-able by virals? This would encourage a bit more diversity

I like the new lictor. It offers the miners something to play around with and you have to consider it when attacking miners. Increase the chlorite range by 1 and we`re starting to get somewhere.

Not sure about the MOW yet. Havent come across it so far, but Im sure its gonna kick me when I do. Looks to me to be a bit low in pr, but I guess we`ll have to see.

Yes, please lower the L class pr. And the G.class for that matter. That would make it fun to play guard. Maybe give you a chance to actually stack.

All in all, great changes. Glad something is being taken care of. Good job!
