Zeuss 2006-12-30 | | How does taxation work | | I am trying to set up a terran empire which has substantial income from taxation, but can`t seem to figure out how taxation that is reported in income is related to loyalty or anything else. Does anyone know? |

Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | I have a spreadsheet that does the calculations for a taxation empire... I could also give you the formula, but that would be too easy. |
SweetestDownfall 99+ day(s) ago | is it me or did this guy just admit to multing

2 day(s) ago Yes Anfit, I wonder too about how PR will be affected but that is why I want to see what is possible. And it is no sweat if it doesn`t work out as `I have another empire on this server anyways,` so watch out fleak2 =:P
he did say he has another empire right on the same server :P
Hmmmmm.....hmmmmm...hmmmmmm!!!! |

Zeuss 99+ day(s) ago | Thanks Zenith, I wish it were as easy to understand as it seemed for you to say so. I currently don`t have any goods so that is likely a problem, and if I`m wanting my homeworld to be the basis of income, having goods seems only to come at the expense of population which is necessary for income. Also I`m not sure i understood what you said exactly. If I understood you are saying that I should only have income from goods if I have goods but I do have income from the sale of goods in my income, but I have 0 goods. This is why I am confused about how this works. If i get 5 credits per person, and have 2000 people should I not get 10,000 credits, and then subtract what cost of goods are needed from this? ie at 4 credits per good per person that would be 8000 credits for goods leaving 2000 credits to keep. Yet this is not the amount I have in credit from sale of goods in my income statement. I`m afraid also I did not understand what you said about 350% and don`t inow what cgs are? If you could clarify that would be great. |
Zenith 99+ day(s) ago | I think it`s pretty simple. Goods are sold at 5 credits to every member of your population. If you buy it for 4 credits (like usual), you make 1 credit per good bought. So, per turn, you make 1 extra credit per population member you have, so long as you have goods.
The thing about tax terrans, they got a 350% bonus for demand for cgs (I think).
So, you instead make 3.5 credits per population member. If you have enough goods. It all depends on the supply of goods. Hope this helped. |
Zeuss 99+ day(s) ago | ok so the population and loyalty relationship is now at a point where I am seeing profit from loyalty. I am however confused by how profit from sale of goods is calculated in income. Does anyone know the formula for calculating sale of goods, as it does not, as intuition would seem, calculate based simply on goods produced minus goods required, so this is confusing? |

StormofBladeZ 99+ day(s) ago | Zeuss. ide go a.miner for tax o _0 its quite fun. But most terrans ive seen commercial or agiculture. |
fleak2 99+ day(s) ago | look out for him and whack him then =P no need to be concerned =] |
Anfit 99+ day(s) ago | terran and tax? should work, but i`ll hate to think about your future base PR |
Sukh0i 99+ day(s) ago | kewl ^_^ glad it help you |
Zeuss 99+ day(s) ago | Thanks SukOi, I`ll see if I can appy this to improving my income. |
Zeuss 99+ day(s) ago | thanks but I`m not a newbie, I`ve been playing here and on other servers for about 6 months now and again I`m trying to understand taxation and how it is calculated. I know that taxation is related somehow to both population and loyalty but I would like to know how they are related. Does anyone knows any details about taxation? |
Sukh0i 99+ day(s) ago | i think its this
Tax (GC)
(pop / 2) + ( ( pop x loyalty / 5000) x racial attribute)
this taxation is calculated individually for each and every planet, so an average
(or overall) calculation may be slightly different. |
Ansem 99+ day(s) ago | substantial income from commercial for terran. its always best to start out as a commercial terran. anway research housing build housing on your planets and buy food from the market and then wait for a marauder to steal all of your nice sized planets full of populationg :) such as myself. |
