  Change the game

Hi there fellow gamers, just wondering what you think about changing the game rules a bit to make it easier on newbies. I am a newbie to this game and had not been playing long (only about a day or so) when asomeone with a more powerful empire repeatedly attacked me and enslaved me. I would not have minded if I had the opportunity to stage a decent defense but I was new to the game. S i suggest the game be changed to give newbies more protection against things like this happening.

Kusari I do not care that much for the game anymore to get frustrated. I just think it's sad that people in general don't read a little about there options, before they start to play and then complain when they get attacked. You are right Kusari, that it's nothing personal against Phantomlover.
(We will get our 3 child in the early summer, so when my Paid on Slow ends, it will also be the end for me on GC.)

Zenith the only place a 7 days Newbie protection would really matter is RT. and maybe Ultra and don't really think Stephen would make something for 1 or 2 game-speeds. The idea is however ok.

Gormach said it pretty well but let me make a few additional points.

1. Be thankful he enslaved you instead of taking planets. Most players will be good master`s if they realize that it is in their best interest to help their slaves grow strong.

2.Everyone goes through this when they first start. Making mistakes and learning from them is part of any good game and makes you a better player. So don`t tkae Gormach`s comments personally, he`s frustrated at Stephen not you (long story).

3. If you wan`t to shorten the learning curve and learn some inside tips from experienced players, come join my fed, Universe42. To join a fed you can either look it up in the fed list, or do an intel search on my name. Either way, go to the fed page and click apply. Then send me a PM letting me know and I will approve you.

Personally, I think there should be a rule that says, "can`t enslave people who are less than 7 days old" or something.

Well if you want more time to research, then you can stay below the 5k. PR. limit and don't waste time on fleet right away. even with the 5k. limit you can still explore 2 to 3 planets. Suck out the Ore of those planets and plunder them if you want the chance to get better planets.
For GC/RT you can be ready for more in less then a day. With A. Miners and Terrans you will even have earned enough to build you free in starbases if you don't want to be a slave.
Newbies do have a fair chance if they don't jump out of the PR. limit right away and even if they do they can just get back below the 5k. limit and research some more before they try to make a big empire.
You can still build some scouts and explore for a few good planets (2 to 3 planets) and then demolish the scouts, then you should be below the 5k. limit.
Get the Ore and build your home planet the way you like it, if you have not done so already.
If you think it would be fun, you could stay below the 5k. limit forever, so how can you say newbies don't get a chance.
The problem is that new players jump right in and build up in fleet also, if they started by reading a little in the manual, they would know this.
The game is not that hard to play, but with every game it would be good to read a little about it before doing everything.
If you had read just a little in the manual, you would have known that you will only get attacked more then once, if you lose less then 50% PR. and you will not get attacked in the next 24 or 48 hours, if you don't build up attack ships ( DP. = Damage Protection).
You can still build scouts and starbases without getting out of DP., so when you got your first DP. you could have explored to your colony limit without being attacked, dropped the scouts due to there high upkeep and mined the Ore on those planets, plundered those planets you did not like and builded new scouts and explored for new planets.
You can only blame your self for your misfortune.
