  Viral maintenance issue  

Since most everyone in the past has concerns about virals maintenance I have a new suggestion (I think its new)

Instead of nerfing the maintenance costs for each ship you could have a server wide formula for everyone that would go something like this...

Players PR 0-1mill no penalty
1-10mill maintenance multiplyer 1.1
10-20 mill maintenance multiplier 1.2
etc etc it was just some numbers thrown in for example
That way for anyone to climb into the hundreds of millions PR you could have a grotesque modifier like maybe

Player PR 300-500mill maintenance multiplier 4
500-600mill MM 4.5 etc etc blah blah

I think it would be easy to do and something like the bonus for being out of dp which you could scrap for this.

virals dont need anything changed for them its collectives that do lol and maybe something for the aminers out their who like money but dont like not able to win much on attack but as shown both races you are able to do well its the player that uses them that counts

this idea will hurts all others but viral lol. multiplying a high upkeep or an almost non existant one, which would you prefer? lol silly

fleak2: what dont you think is a bad idea? the server wide formula (punishing everybody and thus still not adjusting the overpowered Viral situation?)? Or adjusting upkeep for Viral ships :P

Well i dont think that is a bad idea. cos i really feel that the virals are overpowered with their ability and their income

Since some of the slower members are unable to see that the purpose of such a change would be so that nobody could climb enormously high in pr and not as a penealty to everyone. Anyways having said that it may not be a good idea about eliminating the penalty after a UW activation even on the first part,since that would allow the UW to climb beyond what the rest of the server would be unable to catch.

hahaha... well now we know it`s a bad idea when Meklon and gCL both agree on it !!!

Meklon this does nothing to resolve the issue whatsoever and many many many many better options have already been suggested and even worked out by A`s... and yet they are not implimented... there is no need for what you`ve suggested by any means whatsoever.

Meklon: I have to disagree..... its always been about Viral having it too easy in going to high PRs because they make a lot of money and have the Pyth and the Angel (ships with very low upkeep).

If terrans or Miners or Guardians go to high PR, they already pay lots of money, why penalize them more???

Marauders and collective can go to high PRs, but basically they are not designed for it.... and your idea will not help them in going to higher PRs, it will even make it more difficult....

That`s right about penalizing high pr players. The issue has never been about what ships any race has,it`s been about the ability to go far beyond what your capabilities should be.
Maru,and collectives are basically unable to reach those pr`s at the best of times so when they get attacked at the low pr`s by someone who the runs up to the top thats whats unfair.

This would damage every race..... why would you want to do that?

the point is that Virals are overpowered (or at least they (we :P) make too much money).

so you have a couple of options:

-raise upkeep of ships
-nerf viral income (but this would still not stop spamming od cheap Pyth and Angel).

So, as a Viral myself, I would say: raise the maintanance of the ships Virals build..... this would _perhaps_ (and god-forbid.....) make Virals stack again.....

but that is probably just me dreaming..... (both on people stacking and GC actually changing..... although I have heard some guides were working on it.....)
