  SpaceCrack Addicts

Alrighty, fellow spacecrackheads, how did you find this silly game? Im sure somewhere there is another thread like this but I am lazy and can`t be bothered to go find it. Also, it is old and out of date so....

Back in 2003, I was very actively duking it out with other players online playing C&C Red Alert 2. Still by far my all time favorite online game. I really enjoyed it, and wanted to expand. I looked around and got into some Star Trek RPG played over email, and that was fun. Lots of creative writing.. but I wanted more. Dial-up was my only option so what I played had to fit an extremely low bandwidth requirement.

I literally simply typed MMORPG in Google and the very first entry was Space Federation Galactic Conquest. I looked at the link for a second, and figured it sounded Star Trekky enough for me to click on it, and it didnt take long for me to really get to liking it. I loved the idea of empire building. The different planets intrigued me, and there are photon torpedoes.

Try as I might have though, I could never get anyone else I knew addicted to SpaceCrack. It became a niche for me and still is. My brother will have none of it. My wife thinks its the Spreadsheet Game, and my daughter asks why there are no animations.

So there you have my story, thought it is brief. What is yours?

I pretty much found it same as you asmo...googled mmorpgs and it was on the list from the old vote link we all used exploit for stcs. Went through runescape and a cpl other games...ogame and something else but I don`t remember what. I only had dial up so options were limited.

Found it at my local library when I searched for space game I think. I was ~12 at the time and didn`t have internet at home for the first 3-4 years I played. I would always run to the library after school and usually had 10-15 minutes to try and get borders and stuff. Was always crushing when I would come back Monday and not have any planets. Once I got to highschool I could also play before and between classes a little bit, and then when I finally got internet in college I played a bunch. :)

Yeah there used to be all these websites that would rank multiplayer browser based games and GC was pretty high up on the list. First multiplayer game I ever played was this one a decade ago.

Was a space nerd back then, wanted to play a space-like version of Civilization. Why this hasn`t been that, it`s been a very "productive" use of my time haha

Google multi-player online games a decade and a half ago and this came up. I thought the game was crab though so I spent most of the next 10 years on uc, playing gc in short sprints but never caring as much about it and always going inactive after a while

I never heard of it before 420fed asked me to join. I`m an avid online player for C.O.D, Halo and more than I can possibly name. At first, I was skeptical about gaming on a pc but I honestly am addicted to playing now. My gaming has spread to pc lol! As to how he found it....well I hope he posts!
