First of all i just want to say i have a lot going on right now, and because of that things are slow going for me.. Everything in GC really needs to be fully rewritten from the game, even to the forum here.. So i`ve been working on that, and one of the things i`m doing is setting up GC to allow for multiple styles that can be selected for use.
It`s a bit more complicated than a simple css selector, or anything like exists on games like AstroEmpires. But basically it means that once i finish up we can have both a nice looking game, and multiple display styles for both the game and forum for pretty much anything we might want, but realistically everything that needs to be done is going to all take time, and with me having stuff going on it`s probably going to take quite some time.. But anyway a small preview of one of the things i`ve been working on is a throwback to the old forum design:- http://i.imgur.com/FJGiByq.png
Which as things go forward whenever that gets done that will be at least one of two options if not more, the other one will be (a proper html5 version) of this forum design. Anyway i`ll probably be making another post sometime over the weekend provided i have the time to do so regarding some of the pm`s i`ve been getting.

Why not use an off-the-shelf forum software with custom style and auth hooks? There`s cutting edge stuff like Discourse(.org) or a plethora of more traditional stuff. Other than authentication there doesn`t seem to be much integration between forum and game. |

99+ day(s) ago | Im sure i speak for the majority of the GC community when i say please take all the time you need. I for one am extremely patient. This is a HUGE task to completely recode the entire game.. programming hurts my brain, which is why i stuck to hardware at school, and now at work. Im looking forward to seeing the results of your efforts :) |

99+ day(s) ago | Nice work. I suspect with the rewrite in coding, anfits would no longer work in the future. Would be great if some of the anfit feature could be incorporate into GC directly. Turn ticker, capsule lab, shipbuilding are the most useful to me personally :D |

99+ day(s) ago | Truthfully it`s not exactly a user interface update, none of the html on gc is valid. As such it all needs to be redone from scratch to begin with, so as i stated that`ll be one of multiple forum designs (as well as several game designs), and that is a small portion of what`s actually being worked on i just felt like sharing.
To put it more simply.. currently i`m rewriting all of GC (Frontend, and backend) nearly from scratch to fix, and improve things. |
