Rocinante 99+ day(s) ago | Absolutely love the idea of counters extending through VM.
TBH, I think that would liven play, because players would be less inclined to hide in VM and more inclined instead to look for targets to get border planets to protect their winnings. |
Omegian 99+ day(s) ago | What BW said about enslaving, the only time I would see using it for logical purposes is for UWing.
As much as I like EE`s idea BW, can you imagine counter-attacks that last over the years, because lets face it, I personally have hunted a guy for 2 years for his clusters back in 04-06. If I had all those counter-attacks back, I think he would have kept VMing till I retired lol. |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | Yeah that`s just not workable, also brings into question what is and isn`t fair.
If you can`t vm having recently won clusters, why should you be able to vm if you are struggling to protect clusters you already have etc.
Only shame as others mention is that the counters are lost.
Agree with BW on the enslaving side though. |
BadWolf 99+ day(s) ago | lol.. no. If you have some legitimate suggestions regarding that subject i`d be happy to listen and consider them, but i`m afraid "banning" isn`t going to really fly. Furthermore no such rules exist on that specific subject, so it`s not as if we can retroactively apply them even if that was to be considered.
Maybe you`re wondering what i mean by legitimate suggestions, and maybe you`re not.. well i`ll provide an example either way. A legitimate suggestion may be like the following:- Not being able to vm for 72 hours after your last attack (Or maybe even longer), but then you have a whole host of new problems which come up with a solution like that, i personally don`t consider punishing everyone to ensure a select few can`t just capture a c3 and vm with it after to be a valid option. While not a valid option, it`s still a legitimate suggestion actually providing a possible solution to a proposed problem. Banning people isn`t a solution for something that`s more of an ethical problem.
Personally i like one idea EphemeralEternity came up with in another thread, that of course being to extend the length of counter attacks against you by the length of your vm. While it`s not a `solution` to the ethical problem here, it is something that in itself would be a mitigating factor to the effect of being able to vm after taking clusters.
Additionally enslaving people then vming is kind of a non-issue in itself, the only thing i`d add there is that either everyone enslaved by someone who vm`s should either be automatically freed or be allowed to free themselves from any pr.. Truthfully i`m inclined towards the latter as the best solution there. |
