Mycaeron 2006-09-02 |  | Collective Race Adjustment |  | Hello, I seriously think that the Collective Race need certain advantages. I am aware that it is a free race, so it cannot have certain advantages like the paid races, but if you notice, I think that they are so impaired that virtually no one plays them anymore.
I understand that the difficulty setting does indicate that it is a Hard race to play with, but recently, it just has been impossible, with less and less people playing GC. The collective needs to puchase minerals for the first ship that they build, and they cannot explore, making them easy targets for low pr prowlers.
I also think that the Collective could also use a high pr ship, because they are mostly limited to prowling the mid pr to low pr range. This also causes a problem for many newbies, whos mid range pr ships stand no chance against exeptionally powerful mid-range collective ships.
However, when a Collective player becomes more powerful, the tide turns against them, because their most powerful ship has around 3500pr. This is also not helped by Neutral ships, since most are weaker than the ships on the Collective`s shipslist.
In conclusion, I feel that something should be done about the Collective Race, and certain adjustments made, or not have the race as an option at all. They need a high pr ship, since they do not win all battles, thus, not always capturing ships. Ship spamming also does not work too well in high pr. They also need lots of minerals to make their ships, which I find unreasonable, since they plunder planets to make money, and losing these planets, lose their resource.
Please, take notice of this, Administration and Gamestotal.com Staff. You have made a wonderful game which I enjoy, and I think that it would be greatly beneficial to the experience if the Collective were allowed to have have an equal chance to compete with its other free account races, the Terrans and the A. Miners.
