WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | Agreed |
mazuku 99+ day(s) ago | Id say just get rid of HWs for everyone. Granted im viral on RT so I don`t have one anymore but HWs are just annoying to deal with. Wasted colony space and you have to be an epic fail of a player to lose your one and only planet... |
ThoR 99+ day(s) ago | hahahahaha:) lock in 1 c4, gordoe it to hell, then just run around with 1 colony, wich is uncapturable permanently...then everyone just become 1 coloby empiers...game ends... retarted idea sorry |
vehystrix 99+ day(s) ago | Lt, if you make every race able to just choose what their homeworld would be, what`s the point in fighting to keep that juicy c3 you may have?
I can come up with a whole list of ways to abuse that system, the easiest being just to lock your juiciest colony and never even bother for borders...
It`` make all races into what them high land guards are doing already, sit up high with positive income and no fear of ever losing your land... |
Forsaken 99+ day(s) ago | stop kicking the dead horse its not nice! |
LtCommander 99+ day(s) ago | The only scout that I feel needs to be added to the game is a Marauder/Collective scout. With the now low player base there should be a very low scanner rating scout. One that can for example explore no more then 7 - 10 planets tops. Dew to the lack of targets this scout would be no more then a empire saver and give the above races a much needed incentive to play them.
Would probably be a good idea but then again when the game is more active it`s not so kinda double-edged sword
If any change at all is needed to scouts imo would be to raise the cost of them and lower there upkeep. This way they can be keep in the lower/11th stack and help encourage stacking. A nice bonus to stackers for once.
As for a way to make hoarding planets more appealing... Why not do away with home words altogether and give every race the ability to lock one planet/cluster in there empire. This could be unlockable so the planet/cluster can be changed at any time. If empire does a UW, they lose there planet/cluster lock ability during there UW.
So many people have left the game after losing there big cluster/planet. This to my mind would go some way to keep players and some of what they put into there empire. The only down side would be not being able to kill a empire outright if the lock was used.
....and yes we know, it requires Stephen so..... <(..)>
And yeah sounds like it`d take extensive coding from stephen.. he barely does anything that takes 5 minutes for me =P

FistOfNoRemorse 99+ day(s) ago | i wouldnt want a 50k c3, id opt for 2 25k c2s then i could still explore borders |
Ragnarok 99+ day(s) ago | Exactly, esp when it is SOOOOO easy to make decent c3 clusters. 50k c3 clusters should be really easy to construct for terran given a little time and patience. It is NOT hard, esp if you play turn based. Nearly impossible to get c3s off a terran unless they go inactive or you`re a super hard core player. |
jigglyPuff 99+ day(s) ago | No, Honestly, 50 planet ceiling I think is fair enough for most people that would want to do heavy exploring.
Adding a 3rd tier of scouts is pointless in this game and just shows how much more newbness we have to be to have more planets while just hiding in DP. |
Vendeen 99+ day(s) ago | Exploring is meant to be something you do during your first week or so to get a decent sized C2 or two, from then on you`re meant to fight for your borders. That`s the reason the formula is so extreme. If you know how to fight, borders aren`t an issue. |
dogboys 99+ day(s) ago | I personally think the new scout is rather meaningless. Considering the forumula is ceil(5000*1.2^(planets-1)), with that exponent, all those new scout ships are going to do is give you a few extra planets.
To explore at 125 planets and get a 1 planet turn, would require about 5486473221 Viator 3. There is no one with that size of income. (As far as I`m aware.)
At 80 planets, you`d need 1500158 Viator 3s to get a 1 turn planet. I don`t understand how you can get a planet at 80 planets.
At 50 planets, you`d need 6319 Viator 3s to get a 1 turn planet. Sure, to explore for 50 planet now turns into a cakewalk compared to the previous 75828 Viator 2s to get a 1 turn planet.
Vandeen, V3s would be 4.5 times better at 1 turn for scanner rating VS V2s. If you mind so much about a few turns or a few credits, just don`t abandon your viator 2s
Grantweep, as I have shown, the V3s would do very little, only making a few used to be hard planets seem relatively easy. |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | okay there, let`s make being explorable even more rigged. Why don`t we start thinking of ways to make hoarding planets more appealing? |
WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | has nothing to do with exploring a c3. it simply cant be done. but you can get close.. |
WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | it is designed to get to 80 planets without going bankrupt. Feasable and one can still fight to gain planets, and also have a fall back in case things turn sour during a fight... |
Vendeen 99+ day(s) ago | Even with that, it takes trillions of EP to explore a C3. That`s why exploration is capped. It`s to encourage fighting and discourage sitting in dp exploring beyond two C2`s.
~237,072,000,000,000 EP to get 125 explored planets.

UberPansy 99+ day(s) ago | I think it`s more targeted at going past the current exploration `wall`, Vendeen. |

Accurate to within +/-100 Exploration points, just did some tests today.
This idea of a scout is ridiculous because in building only 1 turn of scouts (360,000 EP), you can explore up to 25 planets without using more than 1 turn.

WhatIsTheMatrix 99+ day(s) ago | it`ll make exploring to that point less difficult but somewhat cheaper cost-wise. Its more efficient. More powerful scanners mean that same amount of ships yield better results for much longer with the upkeep like that of a scout fleet 3x the size. only 3x more $ for 6x more scanning power. |
Deamon666 99+ day(s) ago | ya woud it make over 100 planets actualy realistic to explore to or would it still be bassicaly capped? |
grantweep 99+ day(s) ago | lol
message is too short |
