Also I think the sad truth is if gordos were taken away GC would die. The income Stephen see`s because of gordo sales is probably the only reason he doesn`t pull the plug on us...

less than 5 people controlling the market = cheap food for now as they drive out their competition = good for taxers. once their competition is gone, they can do literally anything they want with the market whether that means keep it at 1 or have it all at 50+ and kill every taxer around. no matter wat happens in this situation, inactivity is a guarantee. the tb server argument has already been addressed so i REALLY dont know why people keep bringing it up. rt = faster = market changes faster = considerably easier to test things on. if it doesnt go well i`m sure this wont stick for long; if it goes very well, i`m positive it will be adapted to help the other servers as well.

That has nothing to do with my argument..... I am not comparing RT to turn based, I am simply pointing out that gc is dying, while nobody has touched the markets..... so you can`t claim that the way things are happening right now or in the past is a positive thing and should be continued.... change is not always a bad thing.

RT and normal are no doubt the two servers thats suffered the biggest playerbase decline... Slow have been halfed or so only in comparison, wasn`t ever that big to begin with.

How many players were there online anytime on RT in the "good old days"? I dont know since I didnt play then but ive heard several hundred. Now its about 40-50. To me that means a significant decrease, maybe a factor of 5? Has the player base on TB servers decreased much more than that in the same period? Otherwise your argument certainly fails.

Sibi, the argument that "it has been like that on turn based forever" etc is very weak if you ask me.... aren`t turn based servers dying out? Is there not a huge lack if players and stability on the turn based servers?? So the fact that something is that way on turned based, therefore it should stay like that always on all servers.... just doesn`t do it for me.

Fuzzy, same to you, the fact that it has been a certain way for years doesn`t mean that something shouldn`t be done about it.

Deil, you are looking at the little picture, this is for the taxers as much as anyone..... as if a huge amount of food from a very small number of people, floods the market, sure that`s great for taxers, however it will cause other agri empires to restart or go inactive..... then when that small group of individuals who produce all the food go inactive, food will skyrocket, there will be nobody to supply the taxers, and they will most likely be forced into inactivity.

Everyone: messing with a free market system is never ideal and it is very difficult, not even the US Government with all its resources can get this right. Please be patient and try to offer advice or suggestions within your feedback.

If I want a fish and I goto the Market here and the boats have been catching tons of fish -- Fish = Cheap and my stomach is full.. =)

When the fishing is bad, and the supply is low then Fish = Expensive and i`m poorer.. =(

Demand vs. Supply will always fluctuate. Lets focus on curing cancer or making cookies appear whenever I snap my fingers or something important..

SD I dont really get you arguments about a very small handful of ppl are controlling the food market on RT. Hasnt it been so on TB for ages so how is that different from RT? The more I think of it the more I dislike the idea of screwing with market dynamics.

If you happened to catch a 200k fert and produce a sick amount of food that the server cant eat... then you will have to let a lot of it rot to keep prices up to maximize your earning. And If you are a small producer... then you probably havent played very long and wont lose very much be restarting. Either you wait it out or you restart. It has been like that on TB at all times, so I think it is a horrible idea to screw it all because of 2 weeks of food market flooding on RT.

It`s a ridiculous amount of bull that you`re doing this for agri empires but ignore the ramifications on taxers. But meh. This could be EASILY abused to make agri empires tonnes of cash and STILL screw taxers.

Well if you`re going to put a bottom on food prices, why not a ceiling too where if food prices stay above 15 for too long then market prices would be spammed food by a bot at 10, and if food gets below 5 for too long then food gets bought up.

Also, if you`re going to do this, do it only when food hits like 2 per unit for like a whole week (or if multiple small empires start pleading to the admins about it) and buy it up to 4 per unit. 4 isn`t great, but at least it`ll allow small empires to survive long enough to get by. 7 is way too high in my opinion for a buyout bot.

Hi SD - please explain so that I can understand better the "circumstances"

"on rt certain circumstances have made it so that a very very very small handful of people are producing more food than the rest of the server."

on rt certain circumstances have made it so that a very very very small handful of people are producing more food than the rest of the server. which means other agri empires will either be forced to stop playing agri and play something else. and when and if these few empires restart, vm or something else it could potentially cause the rt food market to bottom out how long? food prices could then sky rocket to 30 for stability or worse food could become like minerals where for years and there just would never be any up until someone switched back to agri.

now will this be implemented on other servers, who knows? things change alot slower on other servers best to test things on rt first when possible
