Freelancer 2010-10-23 | | The New U.Industry. | | I suggest this new planet to the game to bring back Industry A.miner as a more profitible income to the game. Reason why there is less Goods on the market is Minerials/tax A.miner is more profitable, well with U.Industry as a planet Goods A.miner can make the same type of money along with promoting A.miner and other Races to produce goods. This planet would also be able to help Terran if they decided to go TAX Terran which is hard with the current market, but this should help any race income that is able to use the U.Industry.
Just suggesting the darn planet like so many have in the past. |

Ragnarok 99+ day(s) ago | But in ending dreams, I start a new process and a new beginning in reality as we put energy into real things. :) |
Ragnarok 99+ day(s) ago | Just as my namesake ends ages, I end dreams too. xD |
HoneyBucket{HH} 99+ day(s) ago | okay dream crusher |
Ragnarok 99+ day(s) ago | Unless you can get Stephen to sign off on this, or get Stephen to give admins the power to create new planet types, this is just a dream. |
GradualIncline 99+ day(s) ago | Ahh, back when Guards were OP with no upkeep, those were the days....Oh sorry, I guess that`s not the topic. In those days 850 was the largest planet you could find, and all of your ships were really dinosaurs!.... *continues mumbling about the past* |
Mazuku 99+ day(s) ago | Since you can sell off at any point I would think the 2bill max would only be a minor nuisance.. As for the reduction of the gordos on planets with high modifiers I dont see how that would logically work (how would an artifact know what the modifier for the planet its being used on?) but it does make sense. Something like 15-30 land per gordo on all U class planets makes more sense to me because they are "special" and could have different reactions to gordos than say normal planets. |
DrKsTGuArDiAn 99+ day(s) ago | Pete has a sound and logical argument, if this was implemented in the begining I doubt anyone would be crying about it now. |
PistolPete 99+ day(s) ago | You dont understand my argument. The land on a planet with a very high modifier is much more valuable than the land on a conventional cluster or u.large.
The way to balance this would be to make gordos less efficient on these types of planets - so that instead of getting 20-40 land you 5-10 for each gordo (if modifier is 400%).
If people want to explore easily it should come at the expense of something else. And the income is the only thing this can be. |
Freelancer 99+ day(s) ago | @PP Gordos require work to make or cost you money to buy them. So either way it cost you something to slowly have a planet gordo up. And if people prefer having the ability to explore easily thats their choice.
Increasing A.miner effectiveness with CGs only help it as an Income, CG plus with the 2 billion MAX limit CGs would max out to often, another reason why CG A.miner isnt popular with vets. I suggested the U.Industry again case it helps more than just A.miner, It could be another income for another race as well or a way to balance out race income. I see U.Industry being useful to A.miner / Terran / Possibly Maru / Possibly Guard ( This is if A.miner changed Guards Industry stuff ). I havent check Maru but im sure it could be applied like guard. |
PistolPete 99+ day(s) ago | I dont like planets with extreme mods. Gordos are way too efficient on them. Right now you get so much more value per gordo if you put it on a U.fert. Makes it too easy to get a big income but have an explore empire. |
freshfish 99+ day(s) ago | Wouldn`t it be simpler if the admins just increased the a.miners CG production race bonus?
Then the problems of bumming around with planets wouldn`t exist. |
Darkseid 99+ day(s) ago | Please take your newbishness some where else.. lol this suggestion suck.. go look at U.large... what`s a problem with doing good on it? please enlighten me.. |
Infernal 99+ day(s) ago | majordinero: i believe the comparison was between mineral and cg miner? maybe i wasnt too clear on that but i do believe youve gone off point yourself |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | Im not old enough to go back to the days of guardians not having to pay upkeep on their fleet although i do remember a time before people had done much gordoing |
JalwinMoerad 99+ day(s) ago | *Nods at AGM.*
I remember when planets were tiny and there was a lone ranger at 7 million pr looking down on us with his zero upkeep fleet.... |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | I think in the game as it is today a U Industry would be a fair addition as long as mentioned by MD the bonus is not too extreme.
Although in my opinion it may have been a better game if U class and gordos had not existed, with those choices people can make huge amounts of money with a tiny planet count and no real risk of ever losing the planets. Without gordos and U class high income would have depended more on getting and keeping clusters.
Obviously i understand that neither of those can or should be removed from the game at this point |
MajorDinero 99+ day(s) ago | it depends on how much bonus U industry gives. If it gives 100% bonus, then right off the bat that`ll mean that land for land, CG empire will make more than tax. If it gives anymore, then that`s just be crazy. People will gordo and have 100k U.industries and just ruin the game on some level, like ferts did.
@Infernal: If you have 500k land and 500 planets and 255 infra...with CG miner you`ll have 1 mil PR. With tax miner, you`ll have a PR something in the 15 mil+ range. moot point? I think not. |
EnderWiggin 99+ day(s) ago | Well a U Industry would be of indirect benefit to taxers as well... although its not as if most taxing races need the benefit. And even with a U. industry CG miners would still probly make less money than their taxing or mineral counterparts. In addition, holding onto many U. industries wouldn`t allow the a.miner in question to make hardly any minerals as a side income. So, not OP/imba at all in my opinion. |
Infernal 99+ day(s) ago | Nothing has lower pr than a mineral miner, not even a goods producer...so moot point there md |
