EnderWiggin 2010-04-04 | | Exploration points equation | | If anyone was curious as to how many exploration points are required to explore high planet counts, the equation for exploration points required for any single given planet is roughly:
4166.7*e^(0.1823*X) with `e` being a constant with value: 2.71828183 and `X` being the Xth planet you want to explore...
there is a link on the explore page that gives you the numbers up to 50 planets, but in case your curious what the next 50 are here they are...
enjoy... lol

GradualIncline 99+ day(s) ago | Interesting, I`ve never bothered to try to figure it out, though I think I explored up to 80 planets once, just because. It certainly takes a while. |
EnderWiggin 99+ day(s) ago | SpaceCowboy the two formulas are actually practically the same. And thus the numbers I have posted are very accurate. I just explored my 68th planet, and the difference between both formulas and the actual number was less than a million. |
websitedesigner 99+ day(s) ago | SpaceCowboy Formula is pretty good, good enough to use.
My formula is very similar.
Stephen Math does revolve around the number ( 1.2 or 120% ) for a few things. Apply that number to the research table, same math. |
SpaceCowboy 99+ day(s) ago | The actual formula is
5000*(1.2^(Current # Planets -1))
Not sure about the Stephen`s math comment... but my formula gives the correct values in the exploration table, also I can vouch for this formula up to 60th explored planet. I haven`t felt the need to explore for more than that yet.
You also get a 10% bonus to scanner rating if you are not in DP |
Yoshi 99+ day(s) ago | i explored to 85 or so in the past as tax miner. my whole 90 mil income was on scout and negative around 40mil. around 90 turns a planets if i remember....something around that....lol |
Squaks 99+ day(s) ago | ouch thats gets to be rather rough, i know getting to 60 is pretty easy but 10 planets after that its almost 10x more lol |
EnderWiggin 99+ day(s) ago | *not that the values may be SLIGHTLY off (I blame stephen math of course...) for example:
According to him: 50 37,918,493
vs
According to me: 50 37,877,947 |
