Special thanks to Kaneda and nedflanders for keeping those upper ranks cleared for the entire week, that was a show of pure dominance! Thank you to DrunkenMasters for awesome leadership. Thanks to Archaeoptyrex and RipVanWingnut for playing major roles in the defense too. Oh, and to Deil for returning to us in the midst of this galactic crisis.

I just about always get enslaved these days before Terran or Miner UW`s :P Probably my fault as I definitely helped pay for it via tribute, but mostly I don`t think anyone is gonna waste arti`s on another random BR UW. It`s not a challenge to get one off and so many go off I don`t think most of the remaining empires care much. I certainly would have made some good hits had I been able to attack him and had a chance to fuse my BTC`s, (Didn`t expect it this early) but I wouldn`t have risked my empire or anything serious to stop him - It`s just not worth it when he blows BR loses power. |

Rather than your pie-in-the-sky simulation and conclusions, let`s do a bit of sober behindysis:
First, while the rest of us were sleeping, UrbanSprawl took full advantage of the rambling Space Well event to fleet up heavily during the +60% periods. On the way, he enslaved his biggest potential opponent. As the UW began, his fed mates took out empires that had begun fleeting up.
There were 10 empires who opposed the UW with actual hits. They accounted for a total of 31 hits. Of those 10, 3 empires acxed for 17 of the 31 hits, or over 50% of the attacks. All three of those empires were starting from base.
The UW succeeded because of good planning and lack of organized opposition, not lack of Guards with paids and arties.
Kudos to UrbanSprawl and BR.
I just wonder why the rest of the server didnt oppose. Were they bought off, were they all shovelling snow, or is a UW just not as big a deal any more? |
