  I`ll Try Again

This applies on more than one level, since I accidently closed my window *winces*

On 2009-04-06, I posted a bug to the staff, stating something I found. I forgot about it, but just noticed it again.

I`ve hit the credit cap, not a new thing, but I didn`t want to buy out the food market now that it`s stabilized :P and there were no minerals (honestly, it was the first time I tried to buy minerals :) ) So I went to buy Raw Materials, and there`s the bug.

I don`t know if this happens at different points, or to different people, but it does to me. When I buy Raw Material at the credit cap, no matter how much I buy, the next time I use turns, I`m back over the credit cap. I could buy out the whole Raw Material market right now, and the next time I used turns, I`d be back over the credit cap. I don`t know if the people who posted those Raw Materials get paid, get their materials back, or just go to waste since I`m over the cap for those too, but that`s another issue that should be looked into.

Here`s some screenshots I took (assuming they work) I didn`t use any turns in between them, and I built Hoko`s so that I didn`t drop out of dp :P If you subtract the cost of the Hoko`s from the income I got for building 45 turns worth of them, my credits before using turns comes out to apparently equal 999,999,999,999.

Also, if the screenshots don`t work, can someone give me some advice as to how I can get them to?

Hopefully this time this gets looked at.

i think evan said make sense. jus that you need to be way above the limit for the item to be destroyed.. for example you have 2bil of raw mineral. buying 1mil of raw mineral will not destroyed the 1mil... you will have 2001,000,000. but if u happen to buy 200mil of raw mineral, you will not get 2200,000,000 of raw mineral, instead you will only have 2000,000,000

no, that`s understandable Ang3lOfDeath, however, what I`m talking about is an error when I`m BUYing from the market, not having something SOLD on the market, my money should be dropping, not remaining maxed

Ive seen something like that before.

Points out Stephen forgot to put a MAX cash limit in the market parameters.
So if something of yours is bought form the market, it just adds to ur total cash. Then when you use ur turns it is then reset to 1 billion cash + the amount of money you made during those turns.

This isnt rock science i hope. Plus i hope im reading / answering this right anyways.

huh, I tested your theory Evane, just because I was curious, and the results were....odd

I bought 5,148,465 RM, when I had 1,996,491,768, totaling in 2,001,640,233, obviously over the limit, your theory would be that 1,640,233 credits would be returned to me.

At the time I had 999,443,959,481 credits, after buying, 999,438,811,016, which makes sense.

I then bought some Hoko`s, my total income, after paying for said Hoko`s being 961,917,928, which should have put be up to a total of 1,000,400,728,944 credits, or, if the theory was correct, 1,000,402,369,177 credits. However, my finishing credits for this little experiment were 1,000,156,769,462, a number that doesn`t seem to make any sense, whatsoever.

So in the end I didn`t answer anything, and gave myself more questions. Sheesh!

*goes off to do something less confusing.

The people you buy the raw mats from get paid.

Basically, what I think is happening is that you are over 2 billion raw materials and every time you use turns with over the limit of a resource (food/minerals/raw materials) all resources beyond that limit are destroyed and you are reimbursed $1 for every unit destroyed. I think Stephen did that as a way of compensating the player for minerals/food/raw mats destroyed.

Since raw materials only cost $1 you don`t end up losing money. For any other resource you would still get the compensation but it wouldn`t really matter because almost everything else costs significantly more than $1.
