Deiloche 2009-06-27 |  | Suggestion possibilities |  | These suggestions that I think would help the game. Just a few ideas. Some are old, some are new. Try not to flame. Constructive criticism expected. Nothing like "That`s moronic". If you don`t like an idea, say WHY. If you cannot do that, don`t post. I would also like to hear WHY you like an idea too, if you like it. Simple thumbs up or thumbs down isn`t very productive.
-Guards: Tourmaline and Topaz made hull ships, Amethyst and Fluorite rebalanced
-A.Miners: Increase on industrial yield to make goods a viable income stream for miners
-Market: Goods cap increased to 5 (It CAN still be profitable to have goods @ 5, as if you are out of dp you will make a very slight profit)
-Mineral caps: There are two proposals here. One is a universal cap at 100 - 200 mill, the other is a cap at 50 - 100 where each additional level of mining infra increases your storage space by 1 million. Which is implemented would depend on if Stephen was willing to try coding that.
-Marauders: Upkeep change balancing implemented. which can be found here Marauder Upkeep
-All races: Small ships made viable to use
-Dark Marauders: Given the ability to use marauder ships, their own ships would be high buildrate very expensive to build ships. Also, they would be a slaver race, would not make much profit at all from holding planets.

Deiloche 99+ day(s) ago | An interesting idea backoff, but the game is addicting enough by itself. And hell no to the idea of giving ingame money for artifacts. That further encourages people to just sit there and make money instead of fighting. If you have that much cash, USE IT. That is the point. :P |

or maybe exchange the money for some artifact or etc...example: 100b for 1 gordo or something....or else ppl will start getting bored after then max their infra/income.... |

i agree that minerals should be capped at around 300mil, any lower and it becomes hard for a terran to uw, this would help market out a bit and hopefully we would see more uw attempts as people would max minrals fairly quick and need somthing to spend their creds on |

Also, as much as I hate saying this ... with many upkeep changes and stuff, i feel some on TB servers and RT might need a full I-Tech Library to change race specs. I KNOW I KNOW ITS A UC THING, but i find it unfair for a player to receive many upkeep changes and find out that plundering isnt the best thing, if he/she thought so, or if someone was commercial that wants to go agri, etc ... just throwing that out. Dont flame me for thinking in advance. |

Omegian 99+ day(s) ago | Increase Lakko and Hokko upkeep, lower the Lyth upkeep a little. I think Ruby should also be rebalanced or hull changed like tourm. I would also suggest tweaking the HunXe to make it more versatile in a balanced stack. |

start by making the lfd not cost any composite that way it would atleast be usefull on the bottom of a stack (1:1 weapon pr ratio is better then most races have on any of their ships) on top of that low upkeep. and a lfd spam is not something i see happening soon.
the miner fighters can also use a real power boost
a miner fighters need a boots (duh)
the tourmaline and t ryu are fine
mineral caps: i think the mineral shortage is better sorted by buffing a miner. and possebly slightly buffing the production rate of other races aswell. |

EphemeralEternity 99+ day(s) ago | well the whole idea behind making the goods cap 5 would mean that only empires that really need them would buy them, also that coupled with an increase to industry would also make cg miners more appealing and that in turn, in time, would allow the market to become saturated with consumer goods so much so that the price should go down eventually i could see consumer goods staying around 3-4 per unit even if the cap was moved back to 5
The mineral cap would be there for a good reason, at 200 mil, it would still allow for 1.2 tril storage and those who want to UW always have ore to invest into
Deil has posted his idea for Maru upkeep adjustment before, it increase upkeep for larger pr`d ships while lowering it for smaller ships, i`m sure he`d be happy to post it again. |

don really agree with this since it does not help at all if miner start to post goods at 5 only.. but i suggest having blackmarket of goods at 5 each.. lets jus restrict miner goods to 4 and increase on the goods yield so as to encourage miner to produce goods..
i would prefer not having the universal cap.. and instead of additional level of mining infra increase storage space, make it any increase of infra level will increase storage space.. so that those establish empire are allow a decent storage of resources if they are planning for uw..
i would like to see small ship make viable to use.. increase the option to stacking and potential add a new dimension to stack.. currently ppl are deter to stack those small ship since upkeep is high and buildrate is too slow..
for topaz, this is what i post on ee thread:
"topaz emmy is not really that alike.. topaz is good for defense, emmy good for offensive.. if i want hull, i have garnet already.. if you increase the hull of topaz, to balance things out you will definitely decrease the range or racial mod... then we have another garnet :S if you want to change topaz, make sure to change garnet too.. having 2 ship of garnet type is not useful at all.."
as for tom, not another hull ship for guard.. we have enough hull already... k class, garnet, gclass... if change is inevitable, turn tom into another ruby.. lower hull, higher firepower.. its useful when stacking...
then for amethyst and fluorite try to make them serve a different role.. maybe fluorite as hull defensive similar to garnet.. amethyst as extremely low hull, long long range (range 10 :P) with low-decent firepower.. also guard still need a pure energy ship.. maybe change the weapon of either quatz, agate, tom or fluorite.. |
