WuDi 2009-06-01 | | Change infrastructure research | | I propose change to how many turns infrastructure research takes:
Option 1: All infrastructure research are separate so you pay lvl 1 research for mining if that is the first lvl despite the fact you may have other infrastructure research. Also increase total infrastructure allowed.
Option 2: All infrastructure research are separate up to a certain lvl such as 50, like previous but anything over 50 will be added together like the system now.
Reason: I think it makes more sense this way. Since research into an area is always easier at the start. It does not make sense how much more you have researched into mining makes your primary housing research harder. I do not believe it will unbalance anything.
What does everyone think? |

Reborn 99+ day(s) ago | I think this is a bloody awful idea!
primarily because this would encourage more n00bs to make the mistake of spreading out their research when that is a horrible idea. you are supposed to specialize, so a few levels of research on housing (tip alert) isn`t going to set you back any in the long run :) |
AshyLarry 99+ day(s) ago | Option 1 could be promising. However, none of the suggestions you had will ever go into place. This is the way researching infra has always been. Most people have only one source of income. It doesn`t make sense for a terran to have 100 levels of comm and 100 levels of agri.
The only race and income style I can think of that might (and I mean only "might") merit researching a second infra is mineral miner who makes cgs on their land.
inb4: we all know how much housing to research to maximize money making with comm, ind, agri. |
Infernal 99+ day(s) ago | or you could just restart your empire heh |
EvilEmpire 99+ day(s) ago | I want to be able to change your reacerch levels One Time for newbies who reacerch the wrong reacerch level so thay have a better chance |
WuDi 99+ day(s) ago | Option 1 is a bigger change than option 2.
There still will be a max lvl. |
IambadPlc 99+ day(s) ago | Option 2 doesn`t make sense. It`s basically further explaining the first option to me.
This does has some potential to be incredibly broken and cheap with people who know what they are doing, or have the amount of time in their hands to do 50+ levels in each category.
It does however give a different method of money making if one seems to be in the crabper thanks to the market; will never probably be as much money making as the pure (infrastructure here) researchers; but hey... at least they are self sustained and won`t rely on said market for a bit unless they need emergency funds to build 10+ mil power fleets.
Yes i know I am wrong. Shush you! |
