NabooTheEnigma 2009-02-12 |  | a few ideas |  | Ok so we are getting everything balanced, but how about something other than ships. These ideas may have been mentioned before but hey im new so i dont know, anyway.. This is war game so lets have it more like a war. 1) Give players the option of who they sell goods, minerals, food etc to. This makes it possible to put embargo`s on empires, force peace treaties between feds or war between them, makes a UW attempt all the more challenging unless you stock up first etc 2) Bring back this anaboliking thing. In war you can obliterate countries and empires, lets be able to get rid of feds although it be temporary since making a fed is easy enough to do. Spies can be put in place and if idea 1 was implemented it would also be possible to punish spies not-smart enough to get caught. 3) This one would give admin a bit more work but have random empire events. All empires have the choice to enter into an event lottery. These could be either good or bad events, like your war effort is aided when spies discover a cache of ships or your people are annoyed with you and have given info to the enemy lose one cluster. Entry into the lottery would be optional but if you enter the consequences are on your head, sometimes you win sometimes you lose. Players would just have to trust impartiality from staff on this one though and events could be quite interesting given a little thought. 4) Sort out the rewards for missions how dull to just keep getting loyalty or a few mediocre planets, it doesnt give incentive to do them. 5) Make feds more useful to members,an internal market or something to helpout new players,obviously limits would need to be worked out. But apart from advice on playing and stacks and making friends feds dont use the potential to add to gameplay they could. Anyway i know what is going to be said, that nothing can be done without the possibly fictional stephen getting involved but some changes to game play instead of just ships could make the game a bit more lively |

NabooTheEnigma 99+ day(s) ago | thats why im saying there should be limits, new empires dont need mass amounts of resources as help but sometimes do need a little so if it was capped feds would still be able to help out new empires a little but not give them an unfair advantage or break the external market in any way. you could even put a cap on the age of the empire you can sell too, like any empire under four months can get help but after that your on your own. |
Skorpion 99+ day(s) ago | When he says he cheating he means that if you let people do that then there wouldnt be any competition on fed markets which, along with many other fed market issues, would lead to the server being economically broken. The best way to make feds more fun is the events. |
NabooTheEnigma 99+ day(s) ago | Also fed markets would only be able to work for fed members, a cap could be put on lowest price as well as how much can be posted per player in a certain time frame and all fed markets could be suspended during a UW attempt. Im not saying everything should be made easy like in UC but more useful fed features would be a bonus to the game providing they were properly thought through and tested before being implemented.
In the case of being able to chose who you can sell too, you could still keep an open market but everything would be more expensive, like minerals and ore get automatically when there are no sellers anyway so empires under embargoes could still buy things..just at a higher price. think of it as another way to make the game more challenging :) |

3, yeh i forsee more CC corrupt riots * yawn at the GC population with nothing better to do than whine corruption
4, would be nice to have more / better missions , at the moment they are just a guide to setting up your empires in a way
5, again riddles the game with cheating , allowing people to sell to other people at low prices or such completely destroys GC , why would we ever want to add a feature to help destroy the game... ?
However feds will become alot more interesting next month |

I just think actual gameplay could do with a little attention as well as ships. |

3) ... dangerous, needs way more thought than you give it here. A lotery only has 1 side effect. the cost of buy`ing a ticket. After that your in gods hands. Nothing bad can happen......
4) yes missions need to be rewritten. But they say that for over 3-4years now.... and still nothing has been done.
Don`t expect that will be done soon.
