I completely agrea with your words, I won't even responce to that as it resembles what I think about the situation now aswell.
I think Africa and co did a good job, but to attract new players, getting the old spirit back, I think friendly fights are needed instead of friendly alliances.
I bet most would risk a cluster above Vmode, when they know a friend will attack him in a fair fight as most upthere are friends. |

99+ day(s) ago | I seriously doubt most of those in VM are there to protect their cluster becuase they don`t think they can cut it and get more borders. Most VM`ers are there for the same reason there are so few new players; the same reason there is consistently between 80-120 players online (for all servers) at any one time (instead of the 200-300 a couple of years ago); the same reason there are only four players online in the top 50 on Ultra right now.
GC just doesn`t hold people`s attention any more. As for the VM`ers (myself included), we just can`t take that final step to trash and abandon our accounts, probably because of some irrational hope that something will happen to excite us about playing again...
ecliips, I have the utmost respect for you. You have the same spirit that you and many other players had years ago when Ultra was active.
And congrats Africa. Even if you had a lot of fed mates, building an empire up to 600+ planets and getting positioned to do a decisive UW is not an easy undertaking. |

99+ day(s) ago | you guys talk like there is only 3 feds on ultra and 2 have ganged up on 1. if 2 top feds are on good terms or are allied then all the other feds need to pull together to stop them or not and be owned, simple as.
uw was needed, vming to save clusters needs to be sorted ( maybe a penalty of 1-3 planets lost when vming more than 3 days) and a injection of new players is needed to increase fun and number of battles on the server (this wont happen as a massive gc update is needed for this to happen and we all know stephen is busy working on his cash cow(uc) ) |

Vmoding is the biggest problem indeed, and there are many more to argue about. And frankly, I'm done with it, you won't listen, KoA doesn't listen, ultra doesn't listen, nor Stephen listens (and I won't listen). |

It wont, there are plenty of other strong empires to take
over and the best part is that the arties are still here.
I didnt even have that many. The real arti people are still here.

If you want things to change, then TPO, KoA and whats left
of BK and the other feds should sit down in a circle and
discuss how to best kill of BR and TC. Those are the alliances.
That would be a fight and an even one. I dont understand all
the talk about a dead server. When I look at my battle logs
I have maybe 100 battles at +50 mill from the time KoA went
inactive and to around the new year 2007 which I think is
pretty good and good action as well!
I dont want to fight pretty fights at low pr everyday on every
server. If it takes an angel spam to get the job done then I`ll do one.
You still sit in your hole eclips and do nothing at low pr,
as that is your playing style, making nice balanced stacks and winning
nice battles. Thats does not mean the server needs uw. People will still vm
when their cols are in danger and you`ll still vm and hide your historias
smiley. If you and dk had used them when we were fighting things
might have gone differently. I had 15 BTCs when I started to build
for this uw. I would have been hurt bad by historias. But now, your
opposition has gathered just as many..lol..go figure.
I have to admit that I expected a bit more resistance. Not to be taken down,
but to suffer few more hits. However, the fact that I didnt does not mean that the
server needs several uws or that its dead. It means more than anything else
that since I`ve started to play this game in 2004 Ive made a lot of good friends
here and most of them are top empires on ultra. Hell, I might even have made it
with a 50 mill fleet:) There was so much back-up for this one and Im very
grateful for that! |
