Ragnarok 2007-12-03 | | you brits and belgian folks.. | | explain this to me:
http://news.sky.com/skynews/article/0,,30100-1293138,00.html
quotes from the article:
"The company says the advert is great for British tourism.
"It`s fun, it`s supposed to show how cosmopolitan London is. Yes, I really think it says London is cosmopolitan," insisted a spokeswoman for Eurostar."
Stressing that the campaign was intended to promote only London, Ms Retallack said: "Obviously a few British people may see it in the papers now but it`s meant to appeal to the Belgian people."
Is this an inside joke between the Belgians and the brits? Looks like something Larry the Cable guy would do personally. =P
"The adverts are meant to show how cutting edge London is, the amazing mix." |

Ragnarok 99+ day(s) ago | well pissing in a tea cup from a distance does take a certain (dare I say it) skill. =P
Travivian.....a bald Larry the Cable guy with a british accent pissing in a tea cup from a distance is a strange way to promote tourism. There. "tourism" "larry the cable guy" and "bald" are in the sentence. Now bite me. xD |
EPrussia 99+ day(s) ago | haha brits suck

Omegian 99+ day(s) ago | thank god Katrina screwd Mississippi over ... I can only imagine what we might be putting here ... well besides more casinos on the coast ...
Atlanta always sounds fun |
Travvivian 99+ day(s) ago | Good grief Dante, I feel for you. =/
Perhaps the Germans, for whatever reason. Thought that he in some way, embodied the people of the United States. And were curious as to what we are actually like. I only hope that is not the case. Yuck. |
OnDante 99+ day(s) ago | Ohhh, Travvivian. How sad life in Chicago must be for you (sarcasm).
I`m in Atlanta, where I think they are building a giant statue in honor of Larry the Cable Guy, standing over the NASCAR track (joke). I think some people around here believe he is the epitome of southern culture, and are planning on naming their babies after him. Your response to the Germans is hilarious. I`d never expect anyone from another country to come here with him on their "To See" list. To each his own, I guess. |
Travvivian 99+ day(s) ago | Oh god. Don`t even mention Larry the Cable guy and Tourism in the same sentence. I recently was walking to Union Station in the Loop of Chicago, and had a group of Germans ask me where they might find him performing. I told them "Sure as hell not here. I hope you didn`t come to my City looking for HIM." I felt bad shortly there after, as they were really quite Genial. So I made it up to them by giving them directions to all the Museums they wanted to visit. XD |
Anfit 99+ day(s) ago | Ad aims for viral marketing. Succesfully. It`s enough of a curio and not that of a deterrent. |
