hmm.. so..
i`ve got my technology research done..
i`ve got a (seemingly) reasonable econ going..
explored to the point of having 50+ planets behind me..
and i`m looking to build a fleet.. but..
each time i actually try and start to build anything, i instantly get attacked by a force much bigger than mine and better stacked as i dont have time to complete a fleet/get up 10 lines.
any advice on avoiding the vultures who spend all day waiting for people to come out of DP or fend them off with enough surviving ships to build a fleet over time, with more ships surviving each battle?
is it just that my `reasonable econ` and power based on planets doing me harm in term of making me an available target for people with less planets and much bigger fleets?
oh, and i`m not slacking in the ship building dept. i`m spamming (e.g.) 20 queens and hitting back to get to build more asap, so i`m not taking 20 minutes to build a fleet. i seem to have about 2 minutes grace after building my first ship and having someone blow everything i`ve built into tiny little pieces.
so any advice? ;) |

99+ day(s) ago | Queens, having a mere 25 hp, aren`t exactly the most durable ships there are. Take the garuda, which has 1 more range than a queen (and thus fires first), and does 400 energy damage. 1 of it can kill 16 queens on normal stance. And it is worth only 100 more PR than a queen...
Just don`t spam queens. |

99+ day(s) ago | Just get a fleet up. Whichever of your ships have high build rates, get em up. Expect to get hit by angel, borr, pyth, and herc spams ( and your queens spams which i sometimes see), so stack or spam accordingly. Just get somewhat of a fleet up so you have a chance. |

99+ day(s) ago | you also just need to just fight a whole bunch. it is not only important for your point of view (I still get suprised at what works sometimes) but people also start to recognise you as a formitable, educated player instead of a floundering, easy target. It seems kind of counter intuitive, but the better you get, the more time you will have to poop around out of dp. |

I don`t leave DP untill i see someone else out, then i rapidly build my stack with 40 turns, hit with the other 5 then restack and wait for more people to come out with a pre-built stack.
I currently live from 80k (my base pr) to about 800k pr currently cos I`m too lazy to go higher, and the battles lower can be more fun.

99+ day(s) ago | another thing is that , i feel that most players below 1 million pr only come out when there is actually a target which they want to attack yup. So i would say only come out once you spot a target and then mentally calculate the rough amount of ships you need to reach that empire |

99+ day(s) ago | I think Firvulag makes a very good point... Make sure you built around 500-600k pr in the first 30 turns that is important whether it is a Herc,Nirvana,Tyr spam it doesnt really matter.. then go about building the destroyers and cruisers |

99+ day(s) ago | check the rankings and wait until the coast is clear b4 building a stack, or spam capital ships to gain quick pr (and dummies of course) with 50 planets u should b aiming to fight around 600kpr and above, and i dont think spammin 20 queens with 50 planets is gonna pack much punch either :-P |

99+ day(s) ago | build some starbase stacks that you can remove when your stack is complete is a nice tactic
judging from this your building 20 queen then hitting back to build another 20 ? why not just build 40 the 1st time , if you got the turns for it you can build as many as you want in 1 go.
using tabs is also an affective stack building method
but everyone who fights has there own methods that work and dont work , none are perfect and im sure they will argue all day long over this and that when trying to help you ^^ |
