w00tTaPuS 2007-10-03 | | Now whatever happened... | | to those guys that spent all day diggin up ore to sell for fast cash... im always out of ore, and i need at least 100k a day, normally thatd be super uber easy to get, but im lucky to get 40k a day :`(
now i find ore mining boring, and its not "hard" for me to do it... but i only got like 3 colony slots to work with, i just wanna know where all the lameo ore miners went
I MISS YOU ALL |

basian_[S] 99+ day(s) ago | ohh yeah, and all i got in compensation for losing like 4 months worth of work was a mear 50 pcc`s, which ended up dying with that empire when I went inactive. |
basian_[S] 99+ day(s) ago | I started strip mining on my origional guardian empire after losing 2 10kish U larges and a 24kish c2 with max possible loyalty do to a not-smart bug duing a UW attempt.
I had like 180 or so levels of housing infra. Going C2 strip mining is easy. Starting with like 1bil or so credits, you can build enough scouts to explore like 25-30 plantes at 1 turn a peice, and during that 25 turns that nice 180 housing infra alows the pop to grow, of course making C1`s along the way.
Dump all of your infra into mining, which, if you get good planets, should be somewhere around 2-3 hundred. Then continue to explore usually to about another C1, then plunder the C2.
Extremely effecient and extremely boring. Only able to do it for like 2-3 hours at a time. And yeah, i missed a zero, 100k ore. Which sells for around a bil credits. Before the end of that empire I had around 300ish bil credits. Which is enough for a guardian empire to climb into the hundred millions and whack a few people for fun. |
EvilAbadayos 99+ day(s) ago | for guard, 5k ore lasts you a LONG time exploring.
So much so you can have over 50k ore by the time you are out of credits.
Trust me i know, I restart enough times during a week to know the most effective strip minig method |
StrikeFreedom 99+ day(s) ago | but u need to use more turn to explore planet when you tried to explore 25 at one go. maybe you can build more scout to save on the turn.. but for new empire or for low income guard, they may not have the income to maintain many scout.. so if they could oni build little scout to explore, they would use lots of turn to explore to the 25 planets...
but i`m not really sure too.. have not strip mine for too long, even had not explore any planet for long time :P |
OnTheRocks 99+ day(s) ago | EvilAbadayos is right, C2 mining is the best.
1. Save 20 turns of plundering C1s. and a pile of turns if you are plundering single planets...
2. A c2 will usually have btween 4000 - 10k ore to mine
3. population over turns built up a lot so you spend one turn investing population into the mining infra, and 5 to plunder. The rest of all your turns go into exploring! |
Twitch 99+ day(s) ago | I used to do that :) |
EvilAbadayos 99+ day(s) ago | strip mining you make a C2 then strip it out and move on.
More turn efficient if you explore each of the 25 planets in a turn (20 turns saving compared to using C1`s and plundering for the same planet number) |
Maraudian 99+ day(s) ago | meh ill go hunting for a few 100k ore then , im low on cash :p |
StrikeFreedom 99+ day(s) ago | yep.. i also strip mine before.. jus explore 5 planets, form C1.. then use all the available labour u have on the C1 on mining... continue to explore 5 planets.. form another C1.. punder the old C1 (so that u don have to use many turn to explore new planets).. then use all the available labour u have on the new c1 on mining...
then repeat the step over and over again... u will get ur bills fast :P |
AGM94 99+ day(s) ago | yeah basian is right, if you do it right and have a little luck with the planets you can easily get more than 100k ore in 2 hours |
Zanarkand 99+ day(s) ago | Basian you mean 100k* ore in 2 hours ? phew thats alot ... |
basian_[S] 99+ day(s) ago | full day of mining? how are you miing? man... you need to take some lessons...
2 hours is enough to get 10k ore, which translates into about 1 bil. Spend for hours, on average, and you will easily have 2 bill after it sells.
Beleive me, i spent more time as an ore mining guardian then most have played this game. |
Augustini 99+ day(s) ago | A few hours give a few bill?? I beg to differ. A full day of ore mining may give you a few bill. Unless you`re lucky and only find good rocky and icy planets... |
basian_[S] 99+ day(s) ago | newbie hunt after a day of ore farming?
No... A few hours produces a few billion and that is enough for a guardian to fight int he million range, easily. No... not newb hunt. Go kill some virals is more like it. |
CaptainJackSparrow 99+ day(s) ago | i used to be one of those... i think the main problem is that it gets really boring to do taht after a while... and also because people flame you if you newbie hunt *shrugs* well if it helps i can start again cause i`m playing 1 planet style anyway so ore hunting can be a part=time for me. Turkey. |
Zanarkand 99+ day(s) ago | o0o...I see |
w00tTaPuS 99+ day(s) ago | well Zanarkand, it doesn`t really bother me which race it comes from
it just seems like there were always those empires, that would spend half the day digging and selling ore, then spend the other half of the day newbie hunting with the cash they made from ore
and now they are all gone, and the ore with them, and i need my ore |
CaptainJackSparrow 99+ day(s) ago | ooo yummy ore.. taste like chicken... |
Zanarkand 99+ day(s) ago | lol Moops , if i am not wrong. I thought only low planet gaurdians dig for ore ? Why do Miners need to waste their time to dig up ores as if they dont make enough in minerals? =p Though i`ll try ore-diggin gaurdians once i get enough gordos lol |
