As nobody on ultra wants to go a uw, especially not the really powerful empires, as they are afraid of changes (the ard of cow), the game is more or less pointless. So lets have some fun and i make a semi-high power uw myself.
Well, i call it semi since i would have build further up, however i run out of available money as here in ultra are way to few active player. So that nobody buys my composite and strafez even for 444$. Its a shame, that a single minimg-miner C3 with tiny 50 infra structure level already flush the market down the drain.....
Well, probably one should rephrase that, there are several active and active high-pr players. However, alone in in the top 5, there are 4 virals and we all know, how much minerals maru ships need....
So bottom line, it is not worth being miner any more on ultra. Economy is one thing. The capital ship builrate cuts are another thing. Well i appreciate that Maraudian brought up a general cut in buildrates of all capital ships. However, i dont understand, why now 2 weeks past after miners got it in the shorts, while virals are still free running. Maybe it is a scientific experiment, how long will it take to annihilate all bigger miner empires....
So the uneven buildrates will probably the no1 reason why my uw will fail within 12 hours.
No 2 reason will be, that i will not explore at all during the uw (I have no available money, but a boss and a wife claiming a part of my life). So in case i loose all my boarders 2 nice C3 will await the lucky attacker (with incredible 24,770 and 17,806 land, but as compensation, i will not even kill all population) If the uw gets destroyed and nobody claimed the cluster, i will try it again later.
And No3 reason is, that i dont asked for support. Whoever wants to defend me its fine with me, Whoever attacks me is fine with me, everyone should have a maximum of fun here it the first place. Way to often people are forgetting this point :-(

That won`t stop me from trying to pwn you, of course. :) Given that I was the last person on UW to succeed at a UW, however, my empire is not entirely recovered yet. ^^; It would be quite nice to see UWs on ultra more than once every two years though. ^^; |

I would happilly switch my race back to terran, but only if my infra comes along aswell.
Only option for improvement of the viralbug I see is to delete the race, or by putting in an extra game-option where any empire can switch races (and infraresearch) twice during it's lifetime here on spacefed....but then again...this too sounds not-smart right????:S
